One thing is utterly clear though - Liu Jin is DEEPLY overestimating his stealthiness. The story keeps praising how stealthy he is, but he keeps getting caught by just people a single realm above him. Its becoming a bit of an [Author Joke] at this point. He really needs to badly level up his stealth arts. Or let an actual stealth cultivator make fun out of him and explicitly state that he is a just a shoddy amateur.

Ted Nakata

Thank you for clarifying in the end notes that you started w/his capture. I initially thought that I had missed it in the last chapter.

Catherine

Ooh interesting theory :)

Vyle

Well this might be the biggest conflict on the continent which would make it the best place to get corpses.

joushua 44

There’s also the fact that spatial pouches preserve items, and Liu Jin’s pouch is just as good as, if not better than actual temporal seals.

Guy

I love the end of the chapter description of Yong.

Catherine

Oh my god I’m really thick! I only just got that, it’s hilarious 😂

Justin McBurnett

deleted comment because I went back and read "Interlude: Divine Frozen Palace II" (after chapter 94). She is Bai Lianshi's disciple (Bai Lianshi - 9th level of the emperor realm) that was sent after they learned of the attack, but she is younger (mentioned she was taught for 2 decades and was picked up as a child so like 25-35 years old).

Justin McBurnett

I bet he doesn't even need to reattach it, I think the regenerating comment at the end is saying they just grow back especially with how badly hurt he was in the dead plains (talking about how his body was like basically falling apart). "A second passes. That is when the pain hits. Liu Jin falls to his knees and screams. His blood pours to the ground even as his regeneration begins working."

Further Beyond

Maybe DFS are here for the storm dragon inheritance? The Qing line is the weakest it's been in generations, both in cultivation and grip over the empire. Or maybe they're too restricted for corpses on the other side by the other great sects. Can't think of many other reasons why'd they be here.

Amelgar

phew, bet Lui Jin was glad he didn't miscalculate twice in a row. would have sucked to lose an arm for nothing!

Derek Walker

Liu Jin purposely goes slow though, relatively speaking. A while back he mentioned he could’ve already been in the earth realm if used all the ingredients his master left behind, but he sees benefits to waiting. To be fair though, it is also noted his friends grow really fast too, most of them are core disciples after only 6-8 months in the sect. That’s actually a ridiculous speed.

Codered999

I thought all of the five fairies were Emperor Realm

JoBo12

To add to this with two follow up questions: 1. Do the spatial expansion enchantments we see for example in the five blessings auction house work differently from spatial pouches? 2. Is the creation of spatial pouches related to the ability to store items in souls as we see with both the sword and the manual inside Liu Jin's soul? I ask this because most spatial enchantments on buildings so far seem to only multiply space. Stretching out what is already there, making 1m into 10m or something similar. This might be in line with some of the Dao abilities which made attacks unable to "reach" the user. On the other hand, even in chapter 3 it is described how Liu Jin's pouch lets you pull out any stored item by thinking about it and if you don't know what item is stored in the pouch it is very hard to retrieve it. Therefore, the pouch can't be a simple expanded space you can rummage through. This seems more in line with the soul storage ability. It might also explain the rarity of spatial pouches if, for example, you need the core of a monster with the ability of soul storage which is presumably a high level ability.

I missed the mention of Yong Zhunyi disarming personality. I laughed till I cried when I saw that. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

burning_the_paper

Maybe, though it seems to me that his growth isn't particularly noteworthy by the standards of the bigger sects. All his friends have been keeping pace with him, more or less.

Gavriel

Love the ending

V

I have to say, I love the mini character lists at the end of every chapter. Great reminders of who people are and good humor in the character state summaries.

Derek Walker

If hadn’t advanced 5 more levels since then, I would agree. But it seems clear he stabilized a while ago, and more than likely something more awakened from the inheritance further increasing his leveling speed. If he were still unbalanced I don’t think he would’ve advanced so much

burning_the_paper

So, here's a worldbuilding question - spatial pouches. We know Liu Jin has inherited a very good one from Old Jiang - but how rare are they? Can you put a human inside a pouch, and if you do what would happen to him/her? Also, does the Bag of Holding rule hold true in this story as well - as in, what happens if you put one spatial pouch into another?

burning_the_paper

Thing is, he's been pushing himself too hard, so I imagine he's going to stay in the True Realm for a while longer until he stabilizes and repairs whatever damage he did to his body/soul by forcibly splitting his soul and speedrunning for the True Realm.

burning_the_paper

Even if she's a high-level Heaven Realm cultivator the flesh buds might be an issue. They haven't been planted in the traitors merely to control them, they likely have more than one purpose.

burning_the_paper

He just cut off his hand from what I gather. Someone of Liu Jin's skill can reattach it. This wasn't done by Xun Huwen.

Derek Walker

I’m hoping after this fight Liu Jin might take a small moment to step into the earth realm. He should have the resources for it, and if took the potion removing the curse, he would be able to likely escape even from people at the top of the earth realm like what happened here.

Yoav

She isn't in emperor given the fact that an emperor would draw way to much attention and renegade is far too unstable to be sent there

Gamer Doyle

Opps the chapter with her never gives her cultivation, so it is possible she is in emperor. If so probably emperor 1, though heaven 9 seems more likely.

Gamer Doyle

Top Tier Heaven realm if I remember right. So they are still toast, unless Yong Zhunyi manages to pulls off ascending to Heaven like Xiao Nan in the fight

JoBo12

she is not an emporer but high Heaven Realm. According to her own words someone in the Fith Level of the Heaven Realm (Feng Zhuo) is not her match, but Feng Zhuo himself still thinks he can hold his own in a fight.

Silverias

Is she an emperor?

Lightseid

Didn't he already lost limbs in the Dead Plains against Xun's grandson ? This should be nothing new for him.

Codered999

Yeah those two are doomed, this is two Earth Realm vs an Emperor, they literally can't win if she decides to kill them and killing Liu Jin is likewise no longer an option now that she's present.

JoBo12

This chapter summarized: There's always a bigger fish.

Kiwilord

He has hydra blood. I think regaining it will be surprisingly easy

JoBo12

We have already seen Liu Jin create a pill to regrow Lei Kong's arm while Lei Kong was also in the true real. It should not be hard to make the pill again though I think we might see Liu Jin's inheritance come into play. The nine-headed snake god has always reminded me of a hydra in some respects so I would not be surprised if regrowing the arm will be even easier.

nknesflkesfe

Considering it was cut off, not destroyed, he can probably just attach it again.

Yoav

Or maybe bai wen has medicine or jin can make a pill that will regenerate his arm

Yoav

Maybe he will try to speed his way into the earth realm now?

Silverias

Oh. That was clever. I also have a feeling that losing a limb is going to be...weird for our boy. I am not sure why, but I believe his inheritance from snek-boss is gonna come into play.
