True necromancy should exist, but it would be the realm of yin

Thanks for the chapter.

If Xiao Nan returns it will probably less hinge on his regeneration but more so on his Dao. Going back and rereading his last fight scene it becomes clear that his enemies believe Xiao Nan to have a Dao of nothingness, void or something similar. My suspicion is that he used this Dao to become nothing/the void, making it seem like he died for his enemies in a last desperate move. This may have resulted in him being stuck in this void as his mastery over his Dao was not fully developed, explaining his absence after the cities fall. He might therefore either need rescue from the void or (more likely) need time till his mastery is good enough to return.

I'd argue it's less necromancy and more biomancy. Note than even the enemy "necromancer" had to make sure his flesh golems were actually functional - they had to have a nervous system, functional heart, lungs etc. Also, it's already been said that the higher level the cultivation is, the easier it is for cultivators to recover from grave injuries, up to regenerating your whole body if you are in the Heaven realm. I imagine he won't be resurrecting Old Jiang or his father, because that would invalidate all the character development surrounding their deaths, but I am pretty sure Xiao Nan is going to be coming back - my guess is there's a very good reason why Mat has stated several times now that Heaven level cultivators have astonishing regeneration, but also emphasized they can regenerate their whole body if necessary.

At this rate Liu Jin is going to be bringing back the dead.

Further Beyond

I think it was mentioned somewhere the black storm dragon ruined the Lei clan, partially why they've gone to Murong Bang for protection. So he was not well loved in the empire

If my guess is right and the author is trying to recreate a certain sequence of events from another cultivation novel, then he'll be meeting the wife at the tournament in a few years, and everyone will be fairly stunned that not only is he married to the (illegitimate) daughter of one of the Feng heirs, but also to the most promising disciple of the Divine Frozen Palace. That being said, it's very likely he will be encountering the merchant princess again, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of Su An.

........ What about first waifu?

Kevin Zhang

You guys are getting this wrong, the black storm dragon was like the Hitler of their continent, but worse. So imagine the dude you were serving under, who you thought to be such a good person turns out to be the son of the vilest dictator in living memory.

Thanatos

Assuming he doesn't kill himself first over realizing his actions led to the death of the (crippled) Black Storm Dragon.

I am both happy that we are avoiding the usual trope of leaving the heroine behind so common in xianxia, but also that Liu Jin is not good at everything and needs help from his companions, and especially the wives. I hope he gets to marry Lu Mei soon, both to seal the deal as it were but also to protect her from others trying to use her.

Even beyond that he serves because he views Liu Jin as a worthy master. Once he learns his true heritage he is likely to become Liu Jin's most fanaticl follower.

Lu mei is going to need a towel for her undergarments when she learns that Liu Jin is a valid heir to the storm dragon empire. At least, when she puts them back on.

And now, rather than service out of a debt of guilt, he has service out of a debt of gratitude.

I'm glad Lu Mei is coming along to the Empire.

Gamer Doyle

I was wondering when Liu Jin would help Lei Kong regrow that arm.
