I love this arc.

I'm going to push against this. For one, it's rather easy to estimate the time between Five Bats and now to be between 6-8 months, since Lui Jin was 14 when he was in bats, and he is not much older than 14 now. Exact time to cultivation progress is both boring, and one of the worst parts of cultivation novels. It's information that doesn't really push the story forward and makes things just power level comparing, which is boring because fights become ""Impossible, he's already spirit realm 3, how is that possible?" *loses* which is boring. As for Lui Jin's cultivation progress, Lui Jin's character has already been established as someone who isn't a "cultivate all the time" character. Cultivation is a tool for Lui jin, not a means to the end. I can very easily see him rising his level just enough to get into the Enternal Flame Clan and then stopping to focus on his other goals. And that's part of what makes Lui Jin a compelling character. He cares aobut about things that are not cultivation, which leads him to different actions than the typical XianXia protag. And that is a good thing, just lie how levels not being the end all be all is a good thing.

I feel that there are two things that should be addressed: Exactly how much time has passed (between leaving the Bat city place and arriving at this sect)? And, more importantly, how has Lui Jin's cultivation progressed so little over this time? Shouldn't he be able to progress at a ridiculous rate, especially with Nine Head Snake God's inheritance? The only reason that I can think of is that he must barely be focusing on cultivation at all. Also, I feel that the story could benefit from more details about how cultivation works, as well as what the precise differences between the stages are (and simply stating what all of the stages under emperor are, in order). This seems important, especially because your cultivation stages differ from the xianxia standard (especially in terms of the difference in power between your stages. The difference between one stage and the next in standard xianxia is vastly higher than in this story)

"While Liu Jin did not have the opportunity to meet Elder Xue, he did make a good impression on some of the older disciples. They made him promise to return tomorrow." I have a feeling that Lui Jin is underselling how good of an impression he made again. Older disciples do not normally make the new disciple promise to show up again.
