Spoil? Maybe not. But I’m certain if she reads book 1 she will figure out a few of the shows reveals. She’s perceptive enough to pick up on foreshadowing that’s made even more obvious in the books than the show. It just depends on if she wants her experience with the core beats of the story to be through the show or the books.

There is nothing you will read in book 1 that will be a spoiler to you. I am almost sure you are far enough to read book 2 as well. There is no way I'm gonna re-read them until they are finished but I will be very interested in listening to your thoughts on them.

Why would Jon hook up with Ygritte if he was still for the Night's Watch? Like you said a few episodes ago "it's this easy to trap a man." I think Jon just couldn't resist.
