[Update] Magic Spell Casting v1.2 + Enchanted Staves v1.3
🕑 Added 2022-05-20 22:50:01 +0000 UTCI've spent a few more days tweaking and polishing most casting animations with spells and with staves, with special attention to hybrid spell/staff playstyles while still aiming for a good balance between casting while standing still and casting while moving, the main goal remains making third person magic gameplay as close in accuracy as possible to first person.
Both sets are now in a state I'm happy with and (hopefully) won't need any further updates in the foreseeable future.
Next up I'll be working on sneak magic animations since the vanilla ones make 3rd person sneak magic quite unplayable.

Glad you like it! The game blends the magic animations you use with your existing one handed animations when wielding magic + 1h weapon, I'd recommend using this with Vanargand's one handed mid stance as I've made sure the resulting blend makes sense, as can be seen at 3:50 in the video.
great stuff! Do you have any recommendations for magic and one handed weapon though? the run animation looks like my sword arm fell asleep.
I cant believe I never replied but thank you for the detailed response and effort.

Agreed, even while casting rune spells I found that I either had to stand still or switch to 1st person altogether, it's thanks to your feedback along with Dre G Writer's that I started experimenting with sneak magic and I found that it can be quite fun, especially on harder difficulties where detection almost always means death, and it's now even better with release of powerofthree "Magic Sneak Attacks", I figured poll was no longer necessary. However it is taking longer than I wanted to as I haven't been feeling well these past few days, though I'm recovering nicely so far ^^

That video on sneak was painful to watch. Basically you either sneak perfectly still, or use TDM lock on. That will (soon) change thanks to youπ

Glad you like them! Absolutely, hoping to cover all weapon types eventually

Hey love the work, do you plan on doing any more SkySA anims? they are awesome
TheMercsAssassin
You Thanos'ed the problem :)

Haha glad to hear that! I've always been skipping or selling staves to npcs until now, turns out all I had to do was make the animations myself lol

Unfortunately that is to be expected with magic animations since shields behave in really really strange way when magic is equipped in the other hand, so the shield hand in the software doesn't match the ingame results, in the case of the idle animations, this is what the hand should look like to have a satisfactory result in game: https://i.ibb.co/TwPZk8C/Screen-Shot17.png I've spent hours of trial and error to reduce clipping as much as possible with shield and magic, the idle, walks, runs and sprint should not have any noticeable clipping, the casting part sadly does have varying degrees of clipping, I'm not sure what's causing this behavior but I'll be sure to fix it in a future update when I figure it out.

You make me actually strongly consider using staffs (especially the ones you fire by hitting them on the ground like Gandalf or something) for the first time ever in Skyrim. Never once considered using them since 11/11/11. Nice!
This may be a strange request, but can i see what the animations look like with a shield? I have been dying to do a spell shield build but i cannot find a set of animations that play well with the concept. Edit: also you do awesome work. Between your animations and TDM, the game has never felt more modern.

Sadly I 've never tried inquisitor, I've no idea how it works
KMHTech
Would this work with inquisitor?
Holy crap that sneak magic is wobbly in the vanilla. Hyped to see how the Goetia for it turns out
Verolevi
Hahaha that deeply hurts to look at
Verolevi
My pleasure! ^^

That sneak magic video is hilarious lol

Can't wait! Love your work! Thanks so much!
