-----------------------------------------
For many years now, folks have been asking me to make old episodes of the Ken P.D. Snydecast available, as the first 159 episodes have been in the vault for the better part of the last decade.
For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it was one of the first podcasts... well, ever... starting back in January of 2006 and running a total of 234 episodes over 11 years. Here's the show's description:
- Adult Swim's Dana Snyder and FRED Entertainment's Ken Plume set out to have a literate conversation between two pals, but inevitably devolve into a verbal, and funny, free-for-all full of bickering, infighting, and the special kind of male bonding that comes from conflict expressed through the podcast medium.
And that was it, really. Just two pals chatting about whatever. And arguing about ridiculous things.
Over the coming months, I'll be releasing those old episodes in batches here as Patron exclusives (so, please don't distribute them). Some of the early episodes are a bit sonically rough, but if you want to listen to them, now you can.
Attached to this post, you'll find TWO zip files containing the following episodes:
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #46: Are You There, Steven? It's Me, John.
- Ken & Dana announce that they'll be attending this year's DragonCon in Atlanta, discover the quantum effects of podcast recording, and then dive full bore into Indiana Jones and ponder why John Rhys Davies's phone didn't ring before going deep into their childhood theme park memories.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #47: Finland
- Ken & Dana return with the promise to end a cliffhanger, but wind up arguing over the ongoing logo contest, venture into Dana's workshop, announce their upcoming music channel on live365, argue some more, discuss dialects, inaugurate their poetry corner, and wind up on a high note.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #48: Trader Vic's
- Ken & Dana, desperate to keep their streak going despite Dana jetting off to Atlanta, scramble to put together a truncated edition of the Snydecast using tin cans and string.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #49: Fat Elvis and the Robot Army
- Ken & Dana return with some thoughts on Pixar's Wall-E, venture back into Dana's workshop, catch up on recent travels, discover the wonder that is Fat Elvis, and talk of Dana's special relationship with his elementary school principal.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #50: The Big One
- Ken & Dana celebrate their golden anniversary with more of the same - the same greatness! That's right, it's party time in casa de snydecast, and we've brought the balloons, the party favors, and a not a whole lot of bitterness and resentment. Well, maybe just a little.
More to come, but for now - Enjoy!
