-----------------------------------------
For many years now, folks have been asking me to make old episodes of the Ken P.D. Snydecast available, as the first 159 episodes have been in the vault for the better part of the last decade.
For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it was one of the first podcasts... well, ever... starting back in January of 2006 and running a total of 234 episodes over 11 years. Here's the show's description:
- Adult Swim's Dana Snyder and FRED Entertainment's Ken Plume set out to have a literate conversation between two pals, but inevitably devolve into a verbal, and funny, free-for-all full of bickering, infighting, and the special kind of male bonding that comes from conflict expressed through the podcast medium.
And that was it, really. Just two pals chatting about whatever. And arguing about ridiculous things.
Over the coming months, I'll be releasing those old episodes in batches here as Patron exclusives (so, please don't distribute them). Some of the early episodes are a bit sonically rough, but if you want to listen to them, now you can.
Attached to this post, you'll find TWO zip files containing the following episodes:
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #36: The Snydes
- Ken & Dana return with a brilliant new take on a Saturday Morning staple, plus diversions into woodworking, limericks, Dom Deluise, celebrities showing their age, Dana's relationship with his brother, and even John Hodgman.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #37: Giving Until It Hurts
- Ken & Dana celebrate the first negative review of their award-winning podcast, determine that neither of them care to listen to their own podcast past the initial pain of the record, humor Dana's insanity, dive back into the ol' mailbag for an incredible discovery, and arrive at an emotional crossroads.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #38: Running On Empty
- Ken & Dana return for another round of good-natured ribbing while singing the praises of Paul F. Thompkins, talking DVDs, pondering the futility of casting name Chipmunks, reflecting on awkward dinner encounters, dreading the coming of the new Indiana Jones, explaining the power of C-SPAN, remembering YAN CAN COOK, and much more.
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #39: Bizzaro-Cast
- Has the world gone topsy turvy? Is up down? Is down up? What will become of Ken & Dana? Tune in, loyal listner, and find out!
- Ken P. D. SnydeCast #40: Mid-Cast Crisis
- Ken & Dana decide to celebrate their 40th anniversary with a special "What about all those dangling stories from the previous 39 casts?" edition of their award-winning podcast, and dedicate it all to you, the listeners.
More to come, but for now - Enjoy!
