A Bit Of A Chat with Kelly Thompson 3
🕑 Added 2022-02-21 11:26:17 +0000 UTCRight from the moment I discovered her work a few years ago, I became a fan of Kelly Thompson's writing. In the time since, she's very firmly cemented herself in the pantheon of my favorite comic book writers, with her sublime skill at crafting characters that invite investment, within tales that are consistently worth the time to read them. Not only has she put her stamp on Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Kate Bishop, Deadpool, Spider-Man, and more, but she's also been doing amazing creator-owned work which you can get (and support!) via her Substack at 1979semifinalist.substack.com.
And we got to catch up after far too long a gap since our last Chat.
Listen as we talk of failed tests, villainous cameos, Substack futures, kiddie admin, ideal process, distractions, creative playlists, sidestepping stories, reading habits, the mystery of Christie, long runs, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Eisner awards, Jeff, Gurihiru, teamworking, Zdarsky odes, Taskmaster love, and a musical challenge...
