Video sneak peek
🕑 Added 2019-09-21 21:02:59 +0000 UTCHey, you may have seen a notification pop up earlier today about a new video - which was an accident! The video is supposed to go live on Monday, but I guess I can already share it with you all here ;-)
The printing process One Click Metal are using is super interesting and actually really straightforward, and with the core patent having recently expired it feels a lot like the start of RepRap with FDM/FFF 3D printing.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!

The real problem is the material is stupidly expensive. I had a 3D printer originally that claimed to be able to print in PEEK, which I thought was cool until I found out a 500g spool was $180. And meta powder makes that look cheap...

Most likely, as it cuts expenses for patent licenses and also opens up the market to new competition. Maybe even RepRap-style open source machines!

The initial release will probably be around 100k (ready-to-use), with later iterations dropping to 50k. The 10k pricetag is most likely still a good while away ;-)

Very interesting. How much will it cost? I have been enjoying all of your videos.

Looked good to me ,liked the style and the content of course..

I liked it - but to be honest, I was so engrossed by the content that I didn't pay close attention to it

This is so cool!!! I wonder if the price will drop enough that fablabs and maker spaces will be able to afford one of those - and I'm wondering if the price for their machine will drop even further when the other patents expire.

Oh, and let me know how you liked the editing style! It's inspired by the Fully Charged channel, but obviously they're still doing it a lot better (and are actually filming with that result in mind).
