Astra - Monthly Update (May 2023)
🕑 Added 2023-05-21 04:25:02 +0000 UTCHello Patrons,
The double (possibly triple) Patreon post is coming in HOT this weekend. Let's get started with the delicious May 2023 monthly update!!!
WRITING
>> CAUTION: SUPER ULTRA OMEGA INSANE SPOILERS IN SCENE TITLES<<
This is what I was super excited to share with you all this month!!!!!!!!!!!! The writing team has been absolutely SMASHING it for the last few weeks. More than HALF of Act 3 is already in the editing phase. Every other scene except for just two beyond that is waiting for my content review which means their drafts are already COMPLETED.
Based on the current progression, programming will be able to get started very soon which means having an Act 3 release by mid-June is extremely likely. That would mean we only had about a single month wait between acts which is even faster than what our original plan was with splitting up episodes by acts.
Speaking of episode 5, we did a quick word count and it is already 70K+. This makes it the length of 2 episodes so there is a lot of juicy content to explore!!!
CHARACTER ART
Sunimu is just wrapping up all the NPC portraits for the game! We've shared batch 1 of 3 which can be checked out here:

We'll continue to share the rest as they get finalized!
BACKGROUND ART
BG has been a bit quiet while we've been sorting our the current episodes since they were done all the way to episode 5 so far. We'll be adding to the BG list soon so please expect some nice updates in this category going into next month.
ANIMATION
On the animation side, we are currently working on the fully animated character introductions that will be used in the trailer. You can see the WIP preview here:

PROGRAMMING
Programming was really busy last month with getting Episode 5 - Act 2 completed. We are currently working through the bug list now (thanks for all the reports btw) and once that is over, Act 3 scenes should be ready to roll. Lots of things are in motion for programming!
AUDIO
With the OST at a size we are happy with at the moment, Eric has been focusing on getting started with SFX and ambience. We generated the SFX list for the first 4 episodes and he's working through that now. We should have a more robust audio experience at the end of Episode 5 - Act 3 when we retroactively start adding in things.
That's the news for this monthly update. As you can see, it's been an insanely productive couple weeks and the team shows no signs of losing momentum! We hope to continue developing at this speed while never compromising on quality of course. :^)
As always, please feel free to share your thoughts below! Thank you for your continued support.
Cheers,
