Astra - Monthly Update (July 2022)

The July update is below. We got some phat news so please read on. :^)
WRITING
The writing team has done some phenomenal work this month and we are basically 95% done. Katie is going to be doing the final edit pass and there are just a couple scenes to finalize for content. I am positive the read-only version will be out in early August with the art version in mid-late August.
On another note, episode 5's planning is almost completed which means the writing team will hit the ground running as soon as this episode is wrapped up.
Overall, we are hitting our stride again on the writing front and it should not be posing as much of a roadblock as before!
CHARACTER ART
Vaela's confession CG is also completed this month! Luna's one is also quite far along which we should be sharing as a separate post in the next couple days.
After that, all I can say is we will be having some of the most risque/ecchi CGs incoming that's ever been done for PixelFade games. We are pretty much going to be earning our M rating just shy of going 18+. In keeping with our design philosophy for player agency, the risque/ecchi scenes are optional.... you'll have to make pervy MC choices when those situations come up to say the least! ;^)
BACKGROUND ART
We had incredible progression on the BG side with all three artists delivering this month! First up is Celeste's hospital room which continues the clean / sophisticated feeling of being from Polaris. BG two and three are from Kai's freeworld which has a gritty, cyberpunk feel to it. Last is back on Polaris in a decent suburban neighborhood.
The BG list for Astral Ascension has been growing substantially and we hope you guys are looking forward to checking out all these locations!
ANIMATION
We've been implementing UI animations to make the menus feel more seamless and intuitive. It's mainly a work in progress so far however we should have more to share in the upcoming weeks!
PROGRAMMING
We got the first pass of the full UI implemented! This includes all the extra modes and complete functionality across everything else. We will be doing bug tests to find any major problems however episode 4 will have this UI in August.
Since it is in the early phases, we can make changes / updates based on your feedback to make sure it feels as intuitive and clear as possible. Please look forward to this!
AUDIO
The Eric is currently working on adding another bubbly track to our OST and then will be moving on to the title song! That means we'll be on the search for a lyrisist and a vocalist sometime in August.
All our title tracks have been bangers and Astral Ascension will be no exception!!

Oh wowowow this is the first progress report where I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am so looking forward to this thing dropping. JUST HOOK IT UP TO MY VEINS.

This is Huge. That UI sounds intriguing to say the least. Glad I've been holding off on spoilers, because playing this from scratch will be epic. As for the optional ecchi, i really appreciate this approach for ppl who agree that some things ruin characters. On that note, whether the inscenation itself is maturely handled by figures and meaningful or rather cringy pointless bad anime ecchi can still very much make a difference. The way most of this was handled in crystalline was admirable. I might even give those M-rated scenes a chance if said options you have to chose aren't a bit on the degenerate side, I value the MC and his companions too much. Genuinely love your work, can't wait to see what this game will and won't make me do!!!
Very much looking forward to the new UI design. I love the games yall produce and have been playing them for a few years now but some of the latest content you've put up here has been amazing. The BGs are stellar and the music we have gotten from The Eric is definitely been above the bar any of the other games has set so far. Keep up the great work ;)

The backgrounds caught my attention straight away when looking at this post. I have to say the 2nd and 3rd ones are probably my favorites so far. Also great work, I can't wait to see the completed project!
