Dionysus

He understands likely on a logical level that michael is a danger but mentally he still sees himself as top dog and without a constant reminder that michael isnt a naive child, hes a walking demi god, he's prone to slipping into old behavior because, travis grew his empire fucking with big names manipulating them and devouring him, and likely has the mindset of why should this be any different

Dionysus

so, Travis is a total dick in like 23 flavors and if you notice he's been pushing michael slowly and losing his patience and treating michael more as a buddy than a superior ever since he hit silver and spent all those months with michael.

luca de rosa

That’s true. But travis did not become a billionaire ceo by being meek

John Anastacio

I'll reread those parts where Travis and Dave interact, thank you. Wanting to be the only one at the top was foolish, though. It was never going to happen, not just because of Michael but also because of Johanne.

I didn’t think it would be this out of the blue. Travis is literally scheming to take over the world and stuff, willing to go behind Michael’s back for a lot of things. Like when he talked to theobond, or when he pushed kavins which led to the abominations. As for the war, he is in a competition with Dave for the position of power under michael. He literally wants to be the only one at the top, although he accepts that he must be below Michael for now. You can see it in the dialogue between him and dave, always pushing dave to do self destructive things or hiding things.

John Anastacio

What war against David? Is Travis being in a competition against David for some absurd reason? Also why hide the nasty shit in the first place? He should have been honest from the start with his boss Michael, unless he's being silly. Ultimately I'd prefer Travis have his head straightened out and his decision making improved. He's being very dumb, which I don't understand, considering he has been smart until now. Was this change really all because of one of Johanne's remarks? I'm not sure Travis understands what Johanne meant, or who the right hand is.

luca de rosa

To summarize: he’s being emotional bit without having formulated a plan first. He knows how valuable he is to michael. He’s confrontational because he saw michael in a weakened and confused state, to be exploited. His character is shitty like this, a necessary evil. But how necessary?

luca de rosa

It’s a manipulation tactic. He bets on the fact that michael wont do shit to him, and at the same time forces michael’s hand by escalating thing to an absurd degree. Remember: johanne’s offhand comment about him being the left hand made him paranoid. In his mind he either wins his ‘war’ against david or he dies

John Anastacio

I don't understand Travis' behavior here - he's being strangely confrontational with a man who can easily destroy him and undo all his works. It feels reckless, like gambling. Not to mention the risk of Johanne just offing Travis for treachery and insolence to her lord.
