Enriched MSI Z690 Unify X PCB Breakdown notes
🕑 Added 2022-07-11 03:45:58 +0000 UTC8 layer PCB. Having more PCB layers CAN help reduce the impedance of power planes. Which can lead to lower VRM+PCB operating temperatures and better voltage regulation.
Extra PCB layers can also help with RAM overclocking.

Vcore VRM
CONTROLLER
RAA229131 20 phase controller running 19+0
// use 500KHz VRM switching frequency for best voltage regulation performance. Higher frequencies have steadily more and more buggy behaviour.
MOSFETs
RAA220105 105A SPS (peak effic a little over 94% at 1.2V)
MOSFET+INDUCTOR EXPECTED POWER LOSS
at 1.2V and 500KHz
200A 15W
300A 22W
400A 31W
500A 42W
600A 55W
OUTPUT FILTERING
220nH inductors
10x 560uF through hole aluminium polymers. 10K hours at 105C rated Nippon Chemicon
