Kuro had full control over Kaya’s food and medicine, he could’ve poisoned her so goddamn easily.

One of my favorite things Oda does with his villains is have them simultaneously act as foils for Luffy and the main secondary character of the arc. Also the detail that Kuro is the one who causes Morgan’s metal jaw was super cool.
