Yeah, I long ago decided I'd just write what I find compelling and hope that it's possible to achieve the universal THROUGH specificity. Like, ideally people will just substitute their own specific examples of things that make them feel the same ways.

This falls on my list of Bedtime Stories that I THINK are objectively good for all, but admittedly I'm so close to the origins that I cannot possibly have any idea how it plays to an audience unfamiliar with Dixies and DsNR. That said, I absolutely love it, and the line about teens collapsing under an immense amount of free time plays in my head whenever I'm around a lake in the summer, which has been a surprisingly frequent occurrence in my adult life.
