Feels like she thought he would never change, but agree that she should of acted way sooner if she felt this way. Also possible she might of still been rejected and she knew that so never acted

On one hand, I feel bad for Sophi being rejected like that. On the other hand, she's had no less than a decade, possibly 2, to tell this man how she felt. The fact that she waited until he's well into a relationship ALMOST sounds more like jealousy of having his attention on another girl rather than actually being in love.
