Hi guys. I hope everyone has had a fantastic holiday season! An out-of-character post again just to let you all know what's going down. Thank you so much for being so patient with me over the past two months, everyone. 🙏🏽 I know the completion speed of my work has been a bit shoddy recently, and you guys have been sticking through, which I appreciate. I wouldn't say I like to talk much about my home life, but I will give a window into it to be more transparent. I don't want to appear lazy. I apologize for any delay in work. I have two kids that I share custody over with my parents, that belonged to my late sister, and I now live in a different city from them, with about 40 minutes between us. With it being two holidays back to back, I have been traveling and moving between my old home for the kids and around my partner's family, which is 2 hours away. If anyone has kids or inlaws, you may know they can eat up much time during holidays because the time means the world to them. :p My focus on the monthly sketches and projects has been cut short for this reason, so I appreciate everyone for giving me the time to work it out. Things will simmer down again soon, and I have a buttfuck of pics coming again. Even better is, today, I specifically requested to be allowed to sit down and work on drawings! I also want to answer a question somewhat related to this. Curious Cat recently shut down, I presume temporarily, but I did see one of the final questions that a user sent to me. It was,
Do you plan on doing holiday-themed art for this season?
Well, I was noted a similar question on FA too. To this person, I'm sorry for not replying sooner! I pray this answer reaches the user on CC since the question was sent anonymously. I prefer not to rush my replies to notes, so sometimes I wait until more available to write a response, which was my whole reason for joining CuriousCat! Well, to answer these questions, there's one reason I don't do holiday art. I do try, and I used to in the past. You can find some in my gallery on FA. The issue is that I make work too big, and it takes too long to complete, so I miss the deadline. Some work gets repurposed and uploaded as something else or held until next year. So, next year you guys will get more holiday-themed stuff! I have also begun practicing more multi-character compositions, which these caught at work sets have helped with, so as I improve at that, making the big pieces that I envision will be less challenging. You know how I feel: If you don’t take time for yourself, I will HUNT YOU DOWN AND KICK YOU IN THE FUCKING SHIN I SWEAR TO GOD. Lol. In all seriousness though, please just be sure to take care of you and yours first and foremost! I’m sure I speak for most of us when I say that we are just happy to support the creation of new and fun content as well as an artist, and person, that just seems genuinely wonderful. :D
