Noctis is not a fan of vegetables, a constant hurdle that Regis had with Noctis, the absolute awe and delight it brings him though to see that Noctis experiences those first bouts of generational stubbornness.
I just think the idea of grandpa Regis is really sweet.

Regis does indeed die, more that he's killed. So honestly, in my AU, there's no opportunity for him to be killed, thus: he doesn't die 😏 checkmate.
