Baal Zebul + Beelzebub + More updates! (Silene WIPS!)
🕑 Added 2021-07-24 16:49:36 +0000 UTCHey everyone! It's been a little bit - if i'm honest, i've felt a little embarassed with the slow pace i've been going at with respect to the promised Silene painting. Adjusting to the new balance of professional and personal work since I began work with Poppyworks has been interesting - i'm very gratified to know that you're all here behind me! I wish I could share what i've been painting over there, but it's still a ways out...
In the meantime, i've been trying to focus on personal work that gets me through the weird block i've felt on Silene. I've been (As you can probably tell) really energized by SMT lately in the wake of all the V news and my recent Nocturne revisit, and sometimes I find it's best to pursue work I know I can finish and that gets me excited over work that i'm struggling with, as a means to getting the "flow" going again. I want to follow up this portrait of Beelzebub's human form with the full size "Fly" shape he takes in SMT2 onwards!
Silene is proving tricky... for some reason I can't get a composition or a design that I like, despite several false starts. It might be in part because i'm so awed by stuff like Katsuya Terada's painting of her - it feels like I have a great deal to live up to! I promise i'm continuing to work on her, and I won't be starting a new character poll until she's done. Thank you all for your patience! I'll continue to keep you updated on all the work I can share.
Francine
