Poll: SS2 Settings
🕑 Added 2025-08-03 17:06:03 +0000 UTCHistorically, I've kept the SS2 settings pretty simplistic. I mostly just want the cities to handle themselves and watch them build automagically. That won't be changing. But there's a few things I'm waffling on. So...I'm just going to make a list here. Feel free to drop a comment if you'd like to discuss the options.
The poll is set to allow multiple answers, so please cast a vote for whatever suits your desires. And if you would kindly vote either ON or OFF (not both) so I can have a good idea of what people actually want, that would be quite helpful.
HQ infestations are toggled OFF by default. This means HQ will never get attacked by radroaches, molerats, or bloatflies inside, which makes Security (or yourself) have to handle the problem.
HQ desertions are toggled OFF by default. This means your staff members won't ever leave HQ and you won't have to send Admin (or yourself) to bring them back.
Chapter 3 Assaults can result in Injuries - these are toggled OFF by default. When toggled ON, any settlers that are in a bleed-out state at the end of an Assault require medical treatment.
If Injuries are toggled ON, medical treatment has a supply cost (also able to be toggled OFF).
Assaults can cost supplies - this is toggled OFF by default.
Recruiting soldiers in Chapter 3 requires Caps - this is toggled OFF by default.
Diseases are toggled OFF by default. This can be a little micro-manage-y, but does remove a large aspect of Chapter 2. There are extended options here though. Diseases can be disabled or enabled, obviously. If enabled, various things can happen (all of which can be toggled ON or OFF as well):
Diseases can kill settlers if the diseases are ignored.
Diseases can incapacitate settlers until they receive medical treatment.
Diseases can be treated with perks instead of Disease Cure items. If the vote goes towards turning this ON, I'll just enable this one by default.

It feels like busywork to me, I for one wouldn't want to deal with all that stuff interrupting my adventuring.

As someone on their first SS2 playthrough, I appreciated not having all these extra things to worry about, and plan on turning at least some of them on next time.
