Well, they don’t have personalities when they are summoned; it’s Aotian who gives them personality. So whenever the elders are summoned, I describe their appearance. Tian Zhu was described as very handsome, Bao Hui as somewhat like a clever rat, and Lie Zheng as a fierce man with a scar over his eye. I gave the same kind of description for the female ancestors and the auras they emitted. But what happened with the ancestral avatars wasn’t just because they were women, it was because they were too beautiful. If they were just normal women, it would be fine, and there wouldn’t be these descriptions, like you mentioned, but they were women who rivaled Rihai’s beauty. And Aotian, being a man, naturally has a different focus, and consequently, so does the narrator when talking about them. Also, if you’re always used to seeing the figure of a man being summoned, when you see a curvier figure, it’s immediately clear that it’s different. This isn’t about sexualization in this case; it’s about the first time Aotian summons a female figure.

I stopped reading for a while last chapter to let some chapters build up because I got impatient with waiting for more and AAAAAH immediately doing the one thing I didn't want with female avatars - I even mentioned it in the poll you did a while ago. "At its center, three curvaceous figures began to take form." Just write them like normal people instead of doing the "she breasted boobily down the stairs" thing. The word "curvaceous" did not need to be the first thing we knew about them. When a guy avatar materialises you have described their aura, their demeanour, stuff like that. You don't describe their "rippling muscles", the "ample bulge" in his trousers or anything because it's WEIRD to sexualise them like that. This is weird too. Having him go on about how beautiful his female avatars right away is exactly the one type of creepy that could turn me away from this story. In the four sentences after they appear you describe their appearances as "beautiful" four times. AAAAAAAAAH. Just treat them the same as the guy avatars aaaaAAAAAHHHHH!

Yes, there’s a lot of complexity involved, which is why I wanted to show this hesitant side of Aotian. But I also understand that it might have been annoying how much he hesitated. I think the problem is that there’s been a lot since the topic of the female avatars. His hesitation started when he had the idea of basically castrating some elders and creating female avatars. Then came the avatar shop, which made things easier, but he was still psychologically hesitant, though not as much as with the castration. The issue is that, during the process, several things came up before the summoning of the female avatars, and Aotian’s hesitant mindset had many chances to show, which ended up being a bit annoying. Fortunately, that’s over now, but Aotian’s challenge has just begun, and what you said about him having to take responsibility for guiding the female disciples of the sect is a problem that will be addressed. 😶‍🌫️

Comment pt.2 Aotian would be nervous about adopting said mannerisms effectively. In addition, being a woman isn’t just about mannerisms or appearance, it’s an experience. Experience that a man couldn’t possibly replicate. It’s not just about period or having a vagina, but rather a shared emotional, physical, and life journey that women have. Men can be empathetic to it, but would not be able to truly understand it. So Aotian would be hesitant to put himself in that position of trying to embody the feminine experience, when he really can’t do that. Sure you might say he just has to act as an elder and not a female, but if that were the case then there would be no point in this whole gender swap in the first place. The female elders will have to guide female disciples. Not just in cultivation but in life. It would be extremely daunting to ask a man to try to guide a female in the feminine experience of life. Possible, but scary.

I think the author is trying to say that even today there are certain expectations as to how a woman should act. For instance, they are generally expected to be more empathetic and gentle. More open about their feelings than men. I’m not saying every woman is, and it is something that is changing, but we are talking about an ancient civilisation here. Yes cultivators have transcended mortal boundaries, but their filter for the world would still be influenced by a more conservative society. So yes female cultivators would still be respected due to their power, but there would also be a strange feeling if every female elder in the sect acts outside of this expected norm. So Aotian will have to adopt some feminine mannerisms, perhaps even out of necessity. Like wearing a skirt, you can’t spread your legs sitting like a man would, because you’d be flashing your underwear.

Happy the female avatars are finally here!!! Would be great if one of them was from the bao family 😆

Uff I can’t wait for more chapters.

Again a woman is just a person, I would know I am one.

Thanks for the chapter! Now that the summoning has happened I feel like I can say it without being mean: I've always found this reluctance/aversion to female avatars super pathetic, a woman is just a person, no more and no less. There was 0 hesitation to make one of the avatars a dragon, barely any hesitation to consume the literal souls of dozens of people who did heinous things but you guys act like having a pussy is literally mind blowing.
