[You have avatars available for summoning. Would you like to summon now?]
[[Yes] [No]]
Looking at the long list of tasks and the large numbers contained within, Aotian's euphoria cooled a bit, and his lip twitched involuntarily.
But he shook his head, pushing away the greed of gaining power and the bitterness of having conditions attached to it.
He then calmly analyzed the panel before rushing to summon the avatars.
'Hmm… although the number of required disciples jumped quite a bit compared to the previous mission, it actually makes sense. For a Soul Formation sect, training thousands of Golden Core disciples and below is easy. As for Nascent Soul disciples, they're rarer, so the mission is reasonable in asking for only ten.'
He nodded to himself, satisfied.
The system's missions, to his relief, didn't increase difficulty based on his achievements — they simply followed the minimum standard that a sect of that level would normally have. Thus, the requirements were never excessive, and even now, Aotian had already completed several before even beginning.
For instance, missions 1, 2, 3, 11, and 12 were practically complete:
[1 - Sect Leader in the Late Nascent Soul Stage
2 - One Ancestor in the Early Soul Formation Stage
3 - Two Ancestors in the Perfection of the Nascent Soul
4 - Sixty Inner Elders in the Early Nascent Soul Stage
5 - Six Hundred Outer Elders in the Golden Core Stage
11 - Train five hundred Inner Disciples to the Golden Core realm
12 - Train two thousand Outer Disciples to the perfection of Foundation Establishment]
Tasks 1, 2, and 12 were already fully completed. Tasks 3, 4, and 5 would be completed as soon as he summoned the avatars, and task 11 would be finished within the next few days, once the disciples stopped holding onto their contribution points after the end of the competition.
In fact, some disciples had tried to spend their points to purchase Golden Core techniques, advance to the next realm, and then participate in the competition. Those who planned to do so lacked confidence in their skills, so they wanted to ensure at least a high placement by using the power of a higher realm to crush others through brute force, earning many contribution points that way.
But Aotian immediately vetoed that idea, declaring through his avatars that anyone who bought techniques during that period would be disqualified from the competition. It was a way to ensure fairness, after all. Many of the most talented participants had been saving their points, refraining from purchasing techniques precisely to compete and earn the free technique that was one of the prizes.
Thus, it would have been unfair to allow the less confident ones to simply buy power to surpass them.
The sect might not have malicious people who stabbed others in the back, and everyone was, in truth, quite loyal — but that didn't mean there weren't those who tried to take advantage with cleverness. Those two traits weren't contradictory.
Being a good and loyal person didn't stop someone from wanting to win the lottery, earn a better position than their friends, or gain recognition. The difference lay in the method.
If someone was willing to kill, slander, or destroy another for it, that person was evil.
But someone who merely sought to use their own advantages to make up for their shortcomings in a competition couldn't be labeled as bad.
That was exactly what those disciples were trying to do — since they couldn't win through skill, they aimed for raw power. Still, just because it wasn't evil didn't mean it was fair to the other competitors — and it was the elders' duty to ensure that fairness.
As soon as the restrictions were imposed, the clever disciples immediately backed down, still wanting to try their luck in the competitions.
Because of this, a curious phenomenon occurred — no one bought the Golden Core techniques they had fought and saved so hard for, even though they had enough points during the last few weeks.
And once the competitions ended, there was no doubt the Heritage Pavilion would be crowded with people — especially the current five hundred Inner Disciples — who would soon advance, thus completing mission requirement 11.
There were also other tasks that were close to being completed, requiring only a bit more accumulation or a simple action.
[6 - One Holy Son or Daughter with a Spiritual Physique
7 - Ten Core Disciples with Exceptional Qualifications
8 - One Thousand Inner Disciples with High Qualifications
9 - Fifty Thousand Outer Disciples with Good Qualifications
14 - Train the auxiliary ability of five hundred Inner Disciples to the Core-Tier]
Requirement 6 was simple. There was no doubt there would be nepotism — he would appoint himself and Rihai to that position.
There were also Mu Luyin and Lei Yun, but he would wait until they had spent more time within the sect and developed greater loyalty before including them.
Of course, Rihai alone would already be more than enough to fulfill the mission, but since the position was open, he could include others without issue, as there was no rule stating that there could only be one Holy Son or Daughter.
Requirement 7 was also easy: he just had to promote direct disciples with perfect or better roots. Currently, there were more than ten Core Disciples, but some didn't have perfect roots, just like him, so that requirement couldn't yet be considered complete.
Since there was still plenty of time before the next sect upgrade, he was in no rush to promote disciples with such roots to direct disciples. He would continue slowly selecting those he appreciated most, just as he had been doing so far.
Requirement 8 was also part of the promotion route. Any disciple of the sect already met that demand, as all possessed high-quality roots, so he could complete it gradually.
As for number 9, recruiting more disciples — fifty thousand in total — would be necessary, which would be an issue since the sect's current mountain wasn't that large.
Requirement 14, on the other hand, was merely a matter of time.
The only tasks that would truly take a long time were just two:
[10 - Train ten core disciples to the Nascent Soul realm.
13 - Train the auxiliary skill of ten core disciples to Nascent-Tier.]
He had no idea how long that would take, but he was sure it would be a matter of years.
Shaking his head lightly with a faint smile, he didn't worry. It wasn't as if the sect being unable to level up during that period would stop its growth.
'The sect's strength is composed of my personal power, which raises that of the elders, the number of elders, and finally the fried chickens that are the disciples. Still, they're quite useful for handling tasks that require large numbers and moderate strength.'
Feeling more confident about the days ahead, he took a deep breath and gave the mental command:
'System, summon the pending avatars!'
Ding!
[Summoning at the anchor point!]
The system announced, and in the place Aotian had prepared — a large isolated cave — lights began to flash nonstop. In an instant, a massive number of figures appeared.
Leading them were two majestic figures: two old men with long beards and aged eyes, yet with an imposing and powerful aura, even while wearing the simplest robes made from the poorest material. The terrifying and heavy aura they emitted was enough to make even a Soul Formation cultivator tremble and kneel.
They were clearly Void Refiners.
Behind them, another group of light appeared, from which forty men emerged. All radiated powerful auras, and great dignity emanated from their bodies along with Nascent Soul fluctuations.
Finally, the last cluster of light gave shape to five hundred and fifty people, all releasing strong Golden Core auras.
Aotian first looked at the two ancestors with excitement — it meant two new pavilions could be chosen, and new super-abilities would appear.
His gaze then turned to the forty inner elders. He quickly examined each one's status, checking which pavilion they belonged to.
Most were repeats, but he found five new pavilions among them. The rest belonged to existing ones. In total, the sect now had fifteen pavilions, with four inner elders in each — sixty inner elders in total — a considerable advancement.
Of course, there was also the beautiful Elder Jian Huiyin in the Sword Pavilion, making that particular pavilion have five elders.
Without hesitation, Aotian opened the screens of the five new pavilions and began analyzing them seriously. After all, his new ancestors could also join them if their prospects were good.

Spear pavilion Ancestor could be the ancestor of the perverted elder lol.
Gilded Goblin
OK but I kinda wanna see a Body Ancestor now. Just imagining either an 8' behemoth of a man who is a gentle giant, or a 4' hellion on two legs.
Dark Phoenix
Exciting, I'll have to TRY to stack a few chapters cause I prefer to binge read but I can't help myself, hhnnnggg!
Dark Phoenix
They can be purchased using EP. The system already stated any avatars summoned normally will always be men.
Sabine Lesemaus
No female Elders?
The Arcane Emperor
Lovely, nice to see a music and puppet pavilion. They are often overlooked.
