Zach Cregger follows up his smash hit Barbarian with a tale about perspective, societal loss, and violence. It can be a bit hard to describe what Weapons is about without giving away the plot, but being along for the ride is most of the fun.

Kaye, have you seen Lynne Ramsay’s ‘We Need to Talk about Kevin’ (2011)? I haven’t seen it for a while, but a lot of the first half of ‘Weapons’ feels very similar to that film. I liked Weapons but had a similar experience to Kaye, where I was into the horror Justine faces as a pariah but kinda disappointed that the narrative mystery was revealed so quickly to be a witch (but I do think Aunt Gladys is a cool witch)

I loved this film, I’m go happy that you covered it and am looking forward to what your interpretation of Beau is afraid is. I have seen it several times and still have no clue.
