Adaptation Decay 101: Squid Game
🕑 Added 2025-08-13 18:51:40 +0000 UTCWhat if capitalism was a game? Also, if you die in the game you die in real life. Because the game is real life this time. Squid Game took the world by storm when it first came out, but let's put it up to the ultimate critical test... how good of a gaming adaptation is it?
This episodes covers all three seasons of Squid Game.

Luckily there's just 1 season of fallout. I think squid game having 3 seasons would be the anomaly. ideally, we'd cover fallout season one in an eppo, and then season two in a separate episode, for example. -GB

If you're doing death game stuff I'd love to hear your thoughts on the upcoming Long Walk movie after it releases! Along with Squid Game, the Stephen King novel is my favourite of this genre, and I'm hopeful the adaptation will live up to the book!

I like the zoomed out approach but maybe 3 seasons was a lot to cover for an ep. Maybe for fallout and others just do the first?
