Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I fully agree with the plot you hoped for. Everyone has different understandings of love and being loved. Perhaps in this story, they all got what they were looking for. I think this girl's spirit will always accompany this boy. Accompany him through the future, after all, they have merged into one.

You know, in the true vore ending of the thing, it took me a few reads to catch on to the fact that her ghost was hugging our lizard man after he digested her. Its sweet but at the same time, a bit sad that they can't love one another again physically. Then again I suppose in a way she'll always be with him in spirit. Loving our lizardman long after she had been digested. Some part of me hopes that they're reunited again, either after the lizard man passes away from old age or she is reincarnated. If the later, part of me wants her to get willingly eaten again, a different part of me wants to see her actively helping him swallow someone else and while that other girl is being digested, our sweet girl gets fucked and impregnated by her lizardman lover.
