I've also been getting incessant political texts/calls/emails recently. From what I can gather, it started happening after I subscribed to Federal Student Loan Borrower Updates via www.ed.gov/subscriptions. My working theory is that the U.S. Department of Education sold my info to some scammy company(s) who put me on a bunch of lists :(

In the US there is less restrictions for state bodies (it varies from state to state) to sell data to other groups too, so it's much easier for mailers to get your details

Kind of annoying to get so much spam for political campaigns that say they are fighting for environmental/climate reasons. I know it's a small impact per message, but collectively messages use up resources (electricity and water to keep data centres cool).

I get all of these out of state progressive political text messages too. Nancy Pelosi's are the most obnoxious, with the varying fonts and hyperbolic tone. I figured it was because I've donated through Move On and Act Blue.
