I've caught covid while overseas...
🕑 Added 2022-06-10 05:55:50 +0000 UTCWell, it's happened. I've got the Rona and it's, of course, happened while I'm on holiday in a foreign country for the first time since the outbreak. Being overseas makes it particularly inconvenient, as I can't just recover at home and there's a flight I'm supposed to be on in a few days, which I won't be able to make.
Will this mean delays? Maybe not...
Funnily enough, I've already finished and scheduled the July PAT release before I left, so that's coming on July 2nd, and there are around 10-11 weeks of comics pages already scheduled too, so as long as I'm not taken out for a really long time I'll probably be able to keep on track.
This might get in the way of me doing any huge, major updates for a while as I'll have to catch up again, but I have some stuff mostly ready to go for August & September, so maybe just be patient with me and don't expect me to do everything you might want. I should at least be able to put out something decent in August so long as I can get back home.
Is it serious?
At the moment it's unpleasant, but not severe. I've had 3 shots of Pfizer and I'm not in a vulnerable group, so hopefully it won't get severe. In the meantime at the time of writing I think I'm going to be relocated to a hotel close to a hospital, so that should hopefully cover me for the event that I have any serious trouble.
Most people are going to end up getting it sooner or later, I suppose, so I could be worse off than getting it now, while my resistance should be strong.
Is this going to be expensive?
I have travel insurance that should, hopefully, cover most if not all of the out of pocket costs. If I do have to pay anything more, I should be able to cover it just fine, but I hope not to have serious expenses at all. We'll see; I guess I'll be trying to keep track of receipts. There's still some question about whether my hotel costs will be covered, considering I'm going to have to stay longer, but hopefully they will be.
Honestly, I'm just a bit miserable to have my holiday ruined, be feeling bad, and I'm stressed about what's going to happen.

Sadly, the holiday is already over - I was supposed to be flying back today. I've just got to try and recover as quickly as possible and get a new flight back.
