Update - Kimiko caught bathing
🕑 Added 2017-10-30 22:00:01 +0000 UTC tl;dr - I'm relieved after the LMO release, so I've been taking a little time to look at Ren'py and work a little more on designs for PAT.This week's image
Here's a little image idea I had for catching Kimiko in the hot springs! This is for one of the various little moments I'm adding to the game to give extra content throughout. This one might go well early, I think. Possibly a good pic for foot fans (I know you're out there!) although that wasn't the original plan. I just had an interesting pose idea and decided to try and make it work.
I had a devil of a time getting the water to look okay with this picture. I still don't think it's perfect - every time it would reflect too much, distort her body through refraction, or just be invisible. In the end I had to settle on a version where the water isn't very visible, but at least you can see a bit of reflection. I achieved this by rendering a version where the water was basically invisible except for some reflection, and a version where the water obscured her a lot. Then I put the translucent version at 75% opacity over the other version to achieve this effect.
Released LMO v0.6.1 and v0.7.0
It was a relief to actually release LMO v0.6.1 and v0.7.0 this week, because I really wanted to get a release done this month and I was running out of time. The holiday slowed me down, obviously. The hassle about holidays is that you take two weeks off, but you've got to work twice as hard the week before and the week after to make up for it.
Patreon's new rules are a little awkward to work around, because I'd like to be able to put a link on the front page to the free version, but that seems to be against their policy of not linking to adult content except behind the paywall. Anyway, I'm not looking to complain too hard, I just wanted to explain why I did things a little differently.
What next? A little work on PAT?
After the release I hit a bit of a 'what next?' phase, because now I have to work out what I should focus on. I have plenty I could be doing, of course, but knowing what to prioritise is difficult. Right now I'd quite like to get LMO done and also spend some time learning to make a Ren'py demo for PAT, but I appreciate you guys probably want to see some more AotNM content soon too. I mean, I'm usually doing something a bit productive; rendering pictures or playing with designs, if nothing else.
I already worked a bit on developing the design for Nobuko from Pervert Action: Timelapse, for instance - I think she looks a bit better now. I've also been trying, like I've been saying I'm going to, to learn just a little bit of Ren'py. I'm not finding it super easy right now, but maybe I'll be able to get somewhere given time. I can make the images just fine, but building the game is more tricky and will just take some practice. I've made some progress already, playing around with the layout a bit, but it's a whole new style of game development, so that's a bit tricky, especially as I don't consider myself a programmer (not that this is anything like real programming).
I am starting to like some of the results, crude as they are so far. I'll drop a teaser demo on you guys as soon as I feel like I've got something that seems worth showing.
Do you think the picture works? Also, do you have a preference for what you'd like me to focus on now? I can't guarantee I'll do it, but I'll listen! Are you interested in the
