Update - Fumi and the gang
🕑 Added 2017-08-07 22:00:59 +0000 UTC tl;dr - I talk about a test game I'm planning for the new engine (when I get time); I discuss the poll results from this week; I've been at work on AotNM and LMO; and I could use some more LMO transcripts! This week's image
This is for a commissioned scene that will go in the victory suite. Just thought I'd make that clear, otherwise you'd have good reason to ask, "when the fuck does this happen in the game?" Anyway, I think the images for the scene are looking good and I thought I might as well share this one just because I think I did a great job on the poses. There's a messier follow-up too, as you can probably imagine.
Test game
It's often pointed out that when learning to make games you shouldn't start with the huge, epic project. You should try to make something small, learn how it's done, then come to the big project later. Well, I've made games before, but if I'm going to learn a new programming platform then maybe I should heed that old advice again (which I've given myself) and try making a short test game. Obviously I could also release it to you guys! As it happens I do have an idea for a short game that I was writing a while back but I stopped development on it for time reasons.
The game's name is, as I suggested in the recent poll question, Stupid Cupid. I'd planned for the game to be experimental in other ways, but it should work fine as an experiment in a new platform instead. I'll talk about the game a little more when I think it's closer to actually happening. Right now I have to focus on LMO and AotNM, but those projects won't last forever.
My goal is not actually to do all the programming myself, but to hire someone to do it for me. I just think I'll need to know the system some myself first, too. Oh, and obviously Pervert Action: Timelapse is still planned, I just need to know how to use the new engine before I can do the kind of creative game design that PAT will need. I'm not planning to make it as a traditional visual novel.
The poll about the name
Thanks for replying to the poll I posted. I've decided I'm probably not going to go with the "BBBen's" start to a game title unless I've got more reason to do so. I probably need a stronger positive response to really go with that. I was thinking that with the new engine of the test game I'm planning it might make sense to give an extra indicator to the broader audience that it's one of mine. I think for now the best compromise would be to simply release it on forums and stuff as "Stupid Cupid by BBBen".
This week's work
I've been rendering pictures and writing and editing text this week. EFon's written several new endings for Let Me Out, so I have been looking over and editing those, as well as illustrating with some pictures. Meanwhile I've made Attack of the Nega Maids pictures and I've actually finished all the pics for the new Hiroshi scenes! I've also been writing some more for those scenes; not loads, but they're coming along well too. Lastly I've been doing some more re-renders. I hope to show you another comparison shot of something soon, if I can find a good one.
The latest from AW, by the way, is that he wants to stay on writing AotNM, which is good news. He is busy at the moment but the project is moving forward regardless.
I could use more LMO transcripts if you've got them
To anyone who's got the latest version of Let Me Out, I could use a few more transcripts. Even if you're not really doing anything you haven't tried before, if you're trying stuff that the game isn't responding to then I want to see it. Right now I only have one transcript for the latest version, but working through those really helps me to make it a lot smarter.
Any questions? Do you think the test game sounds like a good idea? Am I right about the naming poll? Are you pleased AW is still on board? Got a transcript for me? Let me know in the comments below!

I'll welcome it when you get the chance, then. :)

Always nice to see these updates! I'd be more than happy to send you a transcript... If I had the latest version :P

Thanks, I hope so. :) It won't be right away, though. I still have to focus on my current commitments for a while.

Cool to see you are making progress! I think focusing on a smaller game for the new system is a smart idea.
