Update - 10 October 2016
🕑 Added 2016-10-10 06:05:50 +0000 UTC tl;dr - More work on the endings this week! Mostly picture design and writing. This week's image
Masami in the hot springs... it's getting even hotter! Early on I developed the idea of putting Masami in the hot springs but I didn't have much to do with that idea for a long time. I've got one now, so I think it all worked out for the best.
This picture is the first in a series of four - I could have shown one of the more explicit ones but I just felt this one seemed like the best to show right now. Actually, there's a lot of recent images I could theoretically show that I've made recently, but as they involve the endings or other spoilers I generally want you to find them by playing the game!
Why the next alpha is taking so long
Yeah, I know it's taking a while, I'm sorry about that. The reason is that it's actually a very big update. I considered dividing it up into two parts but I thought it would be unsatisfying to only have half the endings available. The update is going to have a whole bunch of new pictures - I'd guess at least 40 (probably more), mostly sexual - and a lot of new writing. I am, I would say, 6-7 pictures and some writing away from finishing alpha version 0.13.0. Then I'll start working on the harem mode and getting ready for the beta! So v0.13.0 shouldn't take too much longer, I guess around a week, maybe. Definitely this month.
I've also been working very hard lately because I can see the ending in sight. I don't know if I'm going to be able to quite get a 'full' release version out this calendar year. I'd really like to fully release the game in 2016, but we'll see whether I can make that self-imposed deadline. The one thing I'm not going to do is rush it with incomplete features or testing, even if that means delaying it into the new year. (The full game, not the next update - that's coming soon.) The release after next, v0.14.0, is actually also quite a big one, I'm afraid. I don't know how long that will take, although I don't plan to make a lot of new writing or pictures for it beyond what I've already done, so in that respect I might be able to get it done a bit faster.
Writing and making pictures for the ending
Basically I've been doing the same thing I was doing last week - writing and making pictures for the endings - and so I don't want to repeat myself. I am getting pretty far along, though. Unfortunately I was hoping to finish the Fumi ending yesterday; I did finish her pictures but I got a migraine and couldn't finish the writing. It's still bothering me today, unfortunately, but at least I can keep my computer rendering while I feel lousy.
I've got three endings still to finish - Masami/Kimiko (which I'm expanding by request), Ai/Rio (which I need to edit and currently has no pics) and Fumi (which has pics and is mostly written, I just need to fill in a few gaps).
Improving my graphics skills
I've mentioned a lot lately about how I've been trying to improve my renders. Hopefully the results have been evident, too. I have recently got a much better handle on how to light interior scenes in Iray, how to make objects that emit light and how to make objects morph slightly around other objects. Okay, I probably should have learned some of this earlier but it's taken some practice. I like to pick things up through experience and I've been pretty busy. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of renders lately and I think they're getting consistently better. Because of that I've also been doing some more re-renders of pictures this week, trying to make them look better (with a fair amount of success, I think).
