Public Update - November 2016
🕑 Added 2016-11-21 08:47:06 +0000 UTC tl;dr - The latest alpha, v0.14.0, is out! I did have a change of plans about what features should be included in this version, however. Also, I am thinking about doing a public live AIF and I'd love your thoughts! This month's image
Kenji thought of something special for Fumi to do for her kissing training. He called Kimiko for night service as well and Fumi knew just what to do...
So a patron recently pointed out to me a couple of placeholders that I had thought were filled in - a few of the level 5 night service reponses (Fumi kissing, Iku masturbating and Iku stripping). In each case they were unfinished because I had simply reached a point in those night service stories that felt like they were already finished, so there wasn't any obvious next step for them. I think I have them all pretty much covered now, though. This one is from Fumi's night service - you'll have to play the game to see the full story, though!
Pervert Action: Legacy alpha v0.14.0 is out!
If you're a patron and you're looking for the new version, it's here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/7027326
I wanted to put up this public post earlier, but I needed to get the alpha out first. This version of the alpha includes:
- The harem cheat code (but not the harem ending or victory suite) - this will allow you to play with significantly better stats so you can potentially, but not necessarily, get all the sex scenes.
- The Orb of Ecstasy scenes, lust fantasies, night service responses and other sexual placeholders that needed filling in are now all done! (That's quite a bit of stuff, although it's spread out across the game.)
- Rebalanced puzzles - I'm trying to make sure the side puzzles are all achievable.
- Rocket launchers! (These are a way to skip battles in harem mode.)
Change of plans for v0.14.0
If you've been following my previous posts you might remember I mentioned that I was planning for version 0.14.0 of PAL to be the first beta, and to be feature-complete. Well, I realised this month that the game wasn't quite there yet. I needed one more refinement update before I could complete the harem victory suite in one go. Oh, I could do it all in one update but it would mean I'd have to go a long time without putting out an alpha. I also prefer to have smaller milestones to aim for anyway, it makes it easier to focus my work schedule.
Basically I realised that there were more placeholders to fill in than I had thought, and at the same time there was just an awful lot of work to do on the harem ending and victory suite. I had to break with the schedule I laid out several months back, but I hope you agree that this was the right thing to do. I personally want the game to be out ASAP but I won't put it out without first making sure it's good enough.
I've been cheating a little and doing some of the work for v0.15.0 while working on this update, but then I guess I always do that kind of thing - breaking up work on current stuff with work for the future. I can't really go into detail about what I've been making for that update without spoilers, but it's involved new images and designing scenery, as well as programming and a bit of writing.
EFon's Pervert Action: Origins first draft is done!
Patrons will get a bonus soon - EFon's finally finished the first draft of his massive choose-your-own-adventure prequel for the Pervert Action series - Pervert Action: Origins! You'll be able to play/read it soon, once you've had a chance to try out PAL v0.14.0.
Public live AIF?
I had an idea recently: what if I ran a public live AIF through this Patreon page? If you don't know what a live AIF is, it's basically a story I write based on the responses players enter on a forum (or Patreon posts). Imagine playing a text based game where you could enter almost anything because the writer creates responses based specifically on what you type (although still guiding you in the direction of a story). I would probably make pictures, too. Oh, and the responses take like a week to turn up, I would need time to both write it and make a picture, especially if I'm still working on other things!
I do have a game idea that I could potentially build with the help of the live AIF process. I can't make public posts with nudity so I'd probably have a censored version for everyone and an uncensored version for patrons. I don't yet know if this will work or fit in with my main game design schedule so I won't make it a 'reward' just yet or anything like that. Still, it could be a nice way that I could develop this game (Stupid Cupid) that I want to be highly responsive to player commands while also being able to have an ongoing public release of something that really suits my style.
If I do this then there's a good chance I won't start right away. I'd like to finish PAL first and maybe LMO too, so it would be more something I would try while working on my next big project.
Give me your opinions! Do you like the image? Are you looking forward to the final release? What do you think about my live AIF idea?
