Chapter 128: A Few Days Later
"How did they find me if everything was meticulously planned?" A question was heard in the room of a palace within the border city that Jun controlled.
Shen, who had fully recovered, said under his breath, "We don't know."
"We estimate that the information was not leaked. Ri Boku personally took charge of extending his information network while Suez was recovering in bed." Shen admitted that there was no betrayal unless they were aware of it.
The reason they discovered Jun was because it took a long time to recover and also because they took the time to evacuate the assassins one by one.
But as was known, many died, and it was concluded that it was the elders who sacrificed themselves. They had injuries, which had diminished their overall capabilities.
"Did the elders sacrifice themselves so the young could live?" Jun could understand this and sighed.
Losing so many soldiers at once is a great blow, especially because the experience of those slain men was worth more than many thousands of other young soldiers.
But now that he thinks about it, it's honorable. At least they died for a good cause and not a senseless war.
"As assassins, we are prepared to die at any moment. That’s why we must create a monument in memory of all of them." Jun gave a simple order, but it would be taken into account.
Shen nodded slightly and said, "I am really glad you are feeling better, and now I think the time has come for you to read this letter."
It turns out that the Shinyuu Clan, after saving one of their branches in Zhao, communicated with the high commands of the Haiyue Clan and decided that both clans would follow Jun in his vision of the new world.
Both men and women, Jun and Kyou Kai, were destined to be the creators of an evolved future for the assassins who had slowly become isolated from the world.
It is good to preserve traditions and maintain roots and customs, but if they wanted to preserve China, each must be part of the unification.
This is what everyone had understood, and actively there was no one better than Jun to be the guide. As king of the assassins as well as the god of martial arts, Jun had been chosen to be the representative.
"A new world..." Once again, Jun did not choose to have power.
He supposed that the Shinyuu Clan had decided this because Kyou Kai was by his side. Both thought of this union with attention to those small details.
Furthermore, the Haiyue Clan had decided to support Jun, so now, with the union of the Shinyuu Clan, Jun had in his power a military force so great that he could be the king of kings throughout China.
Still, Jun did not want to rush. Currently, he knew that many would die unnecessarily in a war that could be won by other means.
If he now has more power, he must use it responsibly because many lives would be lost just by giving an order.
"Jun, someone wants to see you."
When Jun was debating what he would do next, Vera's voice was heard, followed by Xia, the girl he had saved.
"Lord..."
Jun raised his hand, then said, "Call me just Jun; that would be fine."
Now that Xia had returned, she could reunite with her father, who was safe and sound. She wanted to thank him, but after knowing who Jun was, her attitude changed completely.
"But you are..."
"Just Jun is fine." Jun signaled for Xia to come closer, and both began to talk.
