Chapter 85: Kyou Kai's Revenge
"I’ve been looking for you, Ren of the Yuu tribe, you cowardly trickster."
Yuu Ren looked at Kyou Kai. That outfit was unmistakable, especially for someone from outside. The woman standing before her was from the Kyou tribe, without a doubt.
"Address me as the Princess of Shiyuu, little girl."
"That title isn’t yours."
"You're just like her, only slightly less foolish." At that moment, dozens of silhouettes appeared behind Yuu Ren, immediately focusing on Kyou Kai’s followers, whom she had personally trained.
To hide her surprise, Yuu Ren merely smiled. She hadn't imagined that Jun from the Haiyue clan would have joined the fugitive from the Kyou tribe and plotted to kill her.
She wasn't prepared. She hadn’t thought that anyone other than Jun would want her dead.
In this game, she realized she was losing, but she refused to show weakness, holding onto her title as the princess of the Shiyuu Clan.
"Trash." Kyou Kai counted over twenty assassins from the Yuu tribe, but she wasn’t alone, and so she began to move.
Facing Yuu Ren and the others, who were drawing closer, Kyou Kai's followers, who had adopted a similar fighting style, didn’t flinch in front of these reckless assassins.
They weren’t afraid to die, as they were here by their own choice, knowing full well that it would eventually lead to the death they had chosen.
"Do you know that none of them are real assassins like us?"
"Regardless, they’ll die by our hands, you crazy bitches." Hearing those words, Yuu Ren and the others, who had once been so proud, couldn’t help but be baffled by these women, who, just over a year ago, had been slaves.
Clang!
But before the words could fully register in their ears, Kyou Kai’s body moved like the wind, dashing at great speed. She took the initiative, striking first at Yuu Ren and six other assassins.
Her speed was extreme. In almost the blink of an eye, she was in front of the six silhouettes.
The sudden shift even startled Yuu Ren and her group, whose imposing aura had just been dominant.
"You will die, you treacherous snake." Kyou Kai twirled with her battle dance technique, delivering a series of swift, direct attacks.
The stabbing motions that filled the air stirred the battlefield’s energy. Few could fully grasp what was happening, but everyone knew that this was Kyou Kai at her finest, facing off against her worst enemy.
"She’s been training for this moment for so long, there’s no doubt she’s ready to finish off the false Shiyuu princess."
"Go, General Kyou Kai, win this fight!"
Jun, who had already taken care of his enemies, ordered several members of his group to help eliminate the remaining assassins battling Kyou Kai’s brigade to minimize their losses.
Meanwhile, those facing Kyou Kai were in shock. After all, they had never seen the technique their opponent was using.
At that moment, all of them adjusted their stances, attempting to exchange blows with a Kyou Kai driven by vengeance.
But that exchange wasn’t the most important part. What surprised them once again was their inability to harm Kyou Kai; she seemed to anticipate all their movements, skillfully adjusting her posture to avoid being hit.
With the princess of the Shiyuu Clan by their side, how could someone who hadn’t even participated in the tournament that night be here, proving to be stronger than all of them?
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Every clash of blades with Kyou Kai sparked in the air. The aura of her internal energy surged from her body, and in an instant, her sword sliced the neck of an approaching woman.
The cut was incredibly fast. It was almost like the sound of it was delayed, but this decision came with a grave consequence: a strike she couldn’t dodge severed her left arm.
Even so, Kyou Kai wasn’t the least bit afraid. Her right hand shifted position, and she swiftly counterattacked, killing two more of her direct opponents.
Clang!
Yuu Ren stepped forward to block the impact.
When their two swords collided, not only did a deafening noise ring out, but a blast of air also erupted. As both were thrown backward, the other assassins were forced to retreat as well.
"We need to attack from different angles. Move!"
At that moment, everyone finally recognized Kyou Kai’s strength, no longer daring to be careless. They unleashed their best strategies, surrounding Kyou Kai to attack from multiple angles.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
"I’ll take care of these people. Focus on her." In that moment, a black silhouette appeared in the air and in just an instant, it slammed into an assassin standing behind Kyou Kai.
At the same time, more silhouettes appeared on the battlefield, attacking the women who shouldn’t have interfered in this battle.
Although Jun was confident that Kyou Kai could handle these assassins, he didn’t want her to face more enemies than necessary, so she could focus on the one she wanted to kill.
In this situation, Kyou Kai counterattacked, launching a series of fierce strikes at Yuu Ren. Pressured by Kyou Kai, she could only retreat in frustration, unable to block all those attacks.
How could Kyou Kai be so much stronger?
Clang!
Finally, with a flash, Kyou Kai’s sword pierced Yuu Ren’s chest, and she was utterly powerless against the one who wanted to take her life.
"Ahh!" Feeling the pain in her chest, Yuu Ren grimaced in agony. She wanted to stand, but she found she had no strength left. She had been gravely wounded by a single attack from Kyou Kai.
What was most terrifying was that Kyou Kai was slowly walking toward her. With each step, Yuu Ren’s heart pounded violently. It was as if those weren’t the steps of a girl, but of the God of Death.
Everyone gathered around the hill, after all, Yuu Ren was the only one left alive on this battlefield.

TFTC, a good chapter. (maybe creating an OC as Kyou Kai's second in command could be interesting)
