Chapter 110: Frenzied Demons
Ethan took off his jacket as he eyed the massive form of the demon called Akaza. With his swollen body and long, sharp horns, it was clear that eliminating him would be a real challenge.
"Four eyes, long arms, dangerously sharp horns... probably lethal," Ethan muttered while analyzing his enemy. He visualized all the disadvantages he would face in a close-quarters fight and, with that thought, released the seal on his sword, preparing for what could be a bitter battle.
A surge of divine energy erupted from the depths of his soul, spreading outward and suppressing the evil aura that lingered in the surroundings.
At that moment, cracks spread across the rooftop floor, each about an inch wide, as fragments of debris floated around him before crashing into the demon Akaza, sending a chilling gust through the area.
Many onlookers stared at the top of the building where Ethan stood, observing the strange body of the enormous demon.
Meanwhile, JJ, Liam, and a few others tensed slightly. Even though they knew Ethan was incredibly strong, none of them would dare to face such a monstrous creature themselves.
In an instant, the demon moved. Using his telekinesis, Ethan propelled himself toward the wall by the building’s entrance.
Boom!
Ethan's back slammed into the cracked wall. He knew that any ordinary person would have died from such an impact, but thanks to the protection of the darkness he had manipulated, the damage was significantly reduced.
However, there was no time to celebrate. The demon wasn’t idle and quickly crashed into Ethan, giving him no chance to rest.
Ethan reacted swiftly, leaning to his right and using his left hand to fire three shots from a pistol loaded with special demon-killing bullets.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The three shots hit the demon, who thought they were ordinary bullets. But as they sank into his hardened skin, blood gushed from the wounds, slowing him down just enough for Ethan to escape.
Once free from the demon's charge, Ethan swung his sword, slicing off a large chunk of the demon’s flesh. The demon attempted to retaliate, but Ethan narrowly dodged.
However, just as Ethan was about to shoot again, something black and fast hit him. Before he realized it, the demon's tail had slammed into his body.
"Argh..." Ethan crashed into a set of iron scaffolding, some pieces impaling his stomach. But thanks to his healing ability, he was able to continue fighting.
Standing up, Ethan spat blood. Half of his clothes were torn to shreds, leaving only a long-sleeved shirt still intact underneath.
Crack!
In this life-or-death battle, Ethan wasn't about to stand still after taking such a hit. Immediately, he fired two more shots to slow the demon down.
Bang! Bang!
Seizing the moment, Ethan charged toward the demon.
Akaza’s enraged roar echoed everywhere. The demon was furious at the way Ethan was injuring him, but there was no stopping now. Both of them sought to kill each other.
While Akaza screamed in fury, two blades of darkness struck his left arm, attempting to sever it. Though they didn’t fully succeed, they left the arm hanging, causing even more damage.
Ethan, now close enough to strike with his sword, was once again sent flying, this time toward the edge of the rooftop, nearly falling off.
Under the gaze of everyone watching, Ethan appeared at the very edge of the building. The force the demon exerted on him was so overwhelming that, even with all his strength, Ethan could barely hold on.
As he was dragged closer to the precipice, Ethan knew the fall wouldn’t kill him, but he feared Akaza might escape, leaving them powerless to stop him.
“Ethan!”
Liam quickly sent two snipers to target the demon. They might not be much help, but at least they could support Ethan from a distance.
With everyone watching, Ethan, who had stabbed his sword into the ground, stood up, his expression showing the sheer effort he was putting into holding his ground.
Just as the demon was about to knock Ethan off, two gunshots rang out from a great distance, lifting everyone's spirits.
Bang! Bang!
Two anti-tank rounds slammed into the demon’s head, showering blood everywhere and giving Ethan the chance to get back on his feet.
However, since the ammunition used wasn’t sacred, the demon managed to heal and wasn’t so easily killed.
As the demon tried to regain his vision, a blinding light erupted from Ethan’s body, crashing against the darkness flowing from Akaza.
Boom!
After the collision, Ethan raised his sword and murmured, "50,000 points of faith should be enough to kill him."
At that moment, Ethan’s speed exploded, and he appeared beside the demon. Without giving him any chance to react, Ethan plunged his sword deep into Akaza’s heart, dealing a massive blow.
“Ahhhhh!”
The demon looked down at Ethan, who was still pushing the sword deeper. Using his tail, Akaza tried to squeeze the life out of him.
Feeling his breath constricting, Ethan smiled slightly as a powerful, crushing, and dominant force fell upon the already gravely injured demon. Akaza was instantly overwhelmed by this pure energy, which began to torture his body.
“Ahhhh! I’ll kill you! Someday I’ll return in my true form and tear out your heart!”
The demon’s eyes were filled with resentment, but Ethan, with an authoritative glare, remained silent. As Akaza turned to ash, Ethan fell to one knee.
“I thought that demon would crush me.” Ethan wiped the blood from his forehead, catching his breath.
