Chapter 45: Stalemate
"Ahhhhhh!!!"
Jun was facing a man with great skill, but it wasn’t just him; there were more soldiers around. Soon, both sides fell into a stalemate.
Kyuu Gen, the general in this Dakan plain, was starting to panic as he saw Jun tearing through all the soldiers trying to kill him.
Anyone could see that Kyuu Gen was in a state of confusion and didn’t know what to do.
Kyuu Gen looked toward his guard, wanting to ask him to get involved in the fight. He was about to say something when his expression changed dramatically. Terror and fear filled his eyes.
Kyuu Gen's heart sank at the sight of the strange expression on his guard's face, a man he had considered the strongest among them.
“What are you doing? He’s just one man; hold him!” A soldier yelled as he gathered his strength, aiming to decapitate Jun, who seemed invincible to many.
Many soldiers surrounded Jun, who remained unfazed.
Kyou Kai was far away, fighting other soldiers, but the vast majority were focused on Jun, who posed the greatest threat.
"Don't worry, I'll handle him." A soldier was about to attack again, but before he could do anything, he realized he couldn't move his sword.
"What?" He had no idea when Jun had gotten beside him.
Everyone saw those cold, murderous eyes, sending chills down the spine of anyone who looked into them!
Crack!
The soldier was sent flying through the air by Jun's kick. He was already dead before he hit the ground.
The turn of events was so swift that no one had time to react.
When Kyuu Gen glanced at the soldier, Jun had ripped out his throat with the grip of his left hand.
"Attack!" Kyuu Gen shouted, and everyone roared in response, charging forward.
Surrounded by enemies, Jun held his breath. In just an instant, his inner energy flowed throughout his body, and as he exhaled, he murmured, "Dance of the Black Moon."
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The scent of blood filled the air, with legs and arms flying everywhere. Sabers and swords shattered into pieces, scattered across the ground.
The Dance of the Black Moon was designed to massacre the enemy, to kill them all without giving them a chance to respond.
Everyone blocking Jun from behind was sent flying. Some of them were instantly torn to pieces!
There was a blood-soaked path through the chaos leading to the general, who had not risen from his seat since Jun appeared near the camp.
Although Jun had developed his own crude fighting style using his inner power, he knew all the sword techniques of the Black Moon that characterized the Haiyue Clan, creating a significant gap between swordsmen, regardless of their experience.
The reason Jun now had multiple wounds on his body was because he was being attacked from all directions. Despite his strength, he was not invincible.
With Jun's impact and strength, the group's attacks had become completely ineffective.
Jun paused for a moment after driving away the common soldiers by more than three meters.
More than ten skilled warriors led by General Kyuu surrounded him. They had stopped right in front of Jun. Most wielded swords, though a few held sabers firmly.
With just two hands, Jun couldn’t fend off the attack from these ten soldiers, who were clearly not ordinary.
Despite being outnumbered, there was a fierce look in Jun's eyes. He shifted his stance, turning his back on the experts as Kyou Kai arrived by his side. He adjusted his posture to defend her, sensing she feared dying in a place like this, leaving behind a purpose yet unknown to him.
Jun made a sweeping move to draw all his enemies’ attention to his sword.
Clang!
More than nine soldiers clashed their swords against Jun’s. All of them focused on him, the most dangerous threat.
As for Kyou Kai, she stayed behind him, blocking the soldiers who tried to attack Jun's sword.
Jun's attacks might have seemed smooth, but as he moved his hands through the air, more than ten weapons shattered into pieces, scattered across the ground.
Jun appeared dominant and imposing. He was like a man-devouring beast, too aggressive and powerful.
“If I kill him, we win...” Jun thought, his gaze fixed on the man in gleaming armor.
In that moment, Jun moved at superhuman speed, surpassing the many swords surrounding him in a desperate attempt to end General Kyuu's life. He swung his sword, skillfully evading the attacks directed his way.
Crack!
Everything seemed to freeze; the warriors nearby also bore severe wounds on their necks, leaving them out of the fight.
“No, it can’t be...” Many soldiers turned their heads towards their general, and upon seeing him with a sword piercing his neck, many dropped their own swords.
Jun stepped back, pulling the sword from the Wei general’s neck, and supported Kyou Kai, who was on the brink of exhaustion.
“Is it over?”
“I think it's all over.” Jun had no idea if these people would still attack, but fortunately the cavalry, which had barely made it to this place, realized that the general on this hill had been slain.
