Chapter 005: Without Mercy
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Where are you?!"
"We have hostages, so surrender or we’ll kill them!" shouted one of the remaining men who had invaded the train.
What they had been witnessing was a man holding a sword and cutting through their companions as if they were simply butter.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
"I've never cut salmon, but I think it's the same. Where did you leave your family, lizard boy?" asked Ethan as he drove the sword he held into the supernatural being struggling to stay alive.
Killing these people wasn’t a difficult job; just being in his way made them targets that had to be eliminated at all costs.
Ethan had made sure to kill most of them on his way here. Some were still agonizing and would die sooner or later.
"A Winchester..."
"Yes, I guess you were unlucky to have attacked the train I was traveling on. Tell me something, are you scared?" Ethan looked into the eyes of the figure under his feet.
"Yes..."
Ethan nodded, then said, "Don’t be afraid. Your brain will project your happiest moments for a few minutes before you die, so you’ll be in good hands."
"I don’t want to die..."
"I’m sorry, but you must die." Ethan smiled as if he weren’t about to take another life. It should be noted that he didn’t think he was crazy; at least he believed he wasn’t.
Bang!
"Was that enough?" Ethan asked with a bit of doubt before squeezing the trigger again.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The lifeless body of the young man on the ground shook as it received all those shots.
The people who wanted to be saved from these assailants no longer knew who they felt safer with.
Ethan had eliminated all the possible enemies outside, taking care of everything in less than ten minutes. Only three were left, holding the civilians hostage.
"If you drop your weapons, nothing bad will happen, I promise. No one else has to die. Don’t follow the path of your companions," Ethan pointed to the corpse of the lizard man who had stopped moving.
"Don’t move."
Ethan seemed to be in the middle of mediocre languages and said, "If you don’t drop your weapons, I’ll kill you anyway. Everyone will die under terrible circumstances. If any of you survive after the police arrive, I’ll make sure to skin you alive, cut off your testicles, and have you write down who ordered you to attack this train."
At this point, Ethan had taken out two grenades he had taken from the assailants. He looked at them closely and asked, "Will they live if I throw these things at them?"
"You’re crazy..."
The other people being held hostage remained silent, none daring to say anything for fear of getting involved in this discussion.
"Are we all agreed here on killing these dogs or dying by their hands?"
"Yes, kill them."
"We’re not afraid to die."
Many understood the mental game that Ethan was playing. The problem was that none of them knew he wasn’t playing a mental game.
"What are you doing?"
Ethan removed the pin from the grenade and said, "We’ll all blow up like fried sausages if you don’t drop your weapons. Do you hear that? Those are police helicopters; the big leagues are on their way."
He hadn’t wasted all his time up to this point to surrender to three armed men, who were the only ones left alive.
"One..."
"Wait a minute."
"Two..."
"We can negotiate."
Ethan smiled slightly and shouted, "Negotiate in your next life, son of a bitch."
But just before Ethan released the grenade pin, the men holding the weapons dropped them.
The three remaining assailants knelt on the ground, and Ethan, who was close enough to see it, replaced the pin on the grenade. "Well done; we’re all grateful you didn’t die."
'Idiot, we’d all die if we didn’t drop the weapons...' One of the assailants couldn’t help but curse silently.
But before everyone felt safe, three shots rang out again.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The bodies of the three assailants fell to the ground with a shot to the head.
All the screams from the civilians made Ethan close his eyes in annoyance, but after seeing he had killed the assailants, everything went silent.
"Why did you kill them?"
"I remembered the bastards had explosives on their vests. If I gave them a chance, maybe we’d all die in an explosion." Ethan said it with irony, knowing he could have been blown to pieces if he had pressed those dead men any further.
By then, the train had stopped very close to the station. Ethan had exited the train with the other civilians, and the assault team in the helicopter came down to protect the civilians.
This time, the terrorists labeled by the S.C.G. had been eliminated at the scene.
Ethan wasn’t interrogated; he would have to give a report since it was necessary, but these things didn’t matter much to him.
"Sir, we’ve taken care of everything."
"Tell a policeman to take me to this address; I have my car there." Ethan had wiped the blood from his face, so all he wanted was to get away.
He had Alexander’s briefcase. He hadn’t opened it yet, but if there was any important content, he’d be the first to see it.
The S.C.G. agents, who were practically second-rate hunters, nodded and quickly took care of all the recent problems.
