Chapter 22: Kiran's Latent Power [1]
Kiran stood in front of the punching bag, doing nothing; his thoughts were filled with what the HDW-37 serum had done to his body. According to his speculations, the HDW-37 serum was something the government had been working on for many years; according to the NIS director, no one had survived and accepted the HDW-37 serum without dying.
Since the formation of the special forces tasked with eliminating monsters in the darkness, Kiran and all the captains of the special forces knew about the existence of the HR-1 serum. According to the report, the HR-1 serum is a type of adrenaline injected through a syringe already loaded with the serum.
Through personal experience, Kiran had used the HR-1 serum to eliminate the dark entity that escaped that night. The explosive strength and speed provided by the HR-1 serum were unimaginable. The feeling of power and ecstasy made the body ignore pain, constricting blood vessels so the human body could endure much longer, even if the wounds were mortal. The HR-1 serum was the last resort a special forces captain could use if everything went wrong in an operation. Kiran never thought he could have survived the HR-1 serum.
Kiran had seen in movies and TV shows humans with superhuman abilities, and only on his deathbed could he experience such power. Even now, Kiran doesn't know how to explain that he is still alive. "If it's not due to luck, I must have something in my body that could withstand the HR-1 serum and then make me compatible with the HDW-37."
Kiran recalled the fluids that entered his body, also remembering the wounds on his body and the speed at which they regenerated. Long before being subjected to the HDW-37 serum, Kiran was a master in martial arts and a skilled marksman. During missions, he never felt fear and faced all his targets head-on.
According to his understanding, Kiran knew he was the only one to survive the HR-1 serum and seemingly integrate it without any negative effects into the HDW-37 serum. Therefore, he could acquire superhuman abilities. So far, he knew that his strength and endurance were still increasing; it seemed that his reflexes had become more sensitive too.
Even though his physical abilities continued to increase, getting acquainted with how far his abilities could go for now was crucial. Only then would he evidently have better control over his own body. Since he last left the hospital, he has felt a current of strength running through all his muscles.
Therefore, Kiran was eager to test how much he could exert all that hidden strength in his body. Once Kiran made sure he was completely alone, he walked towards a massive punching bag.
Thinking about how to start, he remembered the martial arts he knew. Hapkido is a dynamic martial art used in military applications and as dynamic training for certain types of people. It is a complete combat technique that compiles the best from various styles, working from long and medium-distance combat based on punches and kicks like karate and taekwondo to close-quarters combat like sirum, judo, and wrestling, and against multiple attackers in aikido and samurai jutsu, in addition to those involving weapon handling like ninjutsu, kumdo, and kung fu.
Undoubtedly, Hapkido gathers the best of martial arts to create a dynamic fighting style for all types of combat. Hapkido is a very comprehensive martial art. It has over 3000 techniques in total, including a variety of strikes, kicks, defenses, twists, locks, throws, and projections, as well as ways to fall to the ground without harming oneself. It also includes techniques to face multiple attackers, armed individuals, and how to use different types of weapons and common items for personal defense.
In the military, Kiran mastered Hapkido well, as it was an essential martial art in daily training. In Hapkido, they took dynamic theory and combined it with the knowledge and study of vital and weak points in the body. There are over 360 points in the human body, of which 54 are attack targets in combat. The location of these points usually coincides with nerves, veins, or internal organs. When these vital points are attacked, the result can range from causing great pain to death. This knowledge is necessary for effective personal defense, one of the most important goals of Hapkido.
However, Kiran now knew that Hapkido did not meet his needs; a technique that did not require brute force was precisely what he needed to measure his striking ability. "Boxing could work quite well; let's try first with a gentle punch." Kiran was determined; without preparing beforehand, he suddenly struck the punching bag.
Splat! Kiran's fist forcefully hit the punching bag of over thirty kilos in a matter of seconds. The powerful blow moved the bag as if the weight posed no challenge to him. Kiran observed his fist without feeling the slightest pain after hitting the punching bag without any protection. Unlike an ordinary person, who would have felt at least a slight discomfort in the knuckles after such a strong blow,.
Aware that his strength had increased, Kiran knew that the more he trained, the more weight he could lift. However, he was also aware that there were three different types of strength: power, endurance, and explosive.
"Hmm, power, endurance, and explosive strength. I feel no discomfort in my knuckles; it seems like my skin is toughening." Kiran reflected as he took a deep breath. Seconds passed as he mentally classified his new strength levels. To test his physical abilities and discover how much they had increased, he had to find out the extent of each of these three types of strength.
"Pure strength, endurance, and power..." Kiran murmured as he closed his eyes and immersed himself in his thoughts. Kiran's experience with his new strength and powerful body intensified with each blow. Every time he faced the punching bag, he could feel how his strength and control became more solid. His muscles responded with agility and power, without signs of fatigue or discomfort.
Training became a true delight for Kiran, who became increasingly excited about the feeling of power flowing through his body. Each movement was fluid and precise, seemingly effortless.
With each punch, Kiran noticed how his skin became more resistant, as if adapting to the intensity of his training. His knuckles no longer trembled but strengthened and became a natural extension of his power.
The excitement of discovering his own potential was intoxicating. Kiran knew he was on the verge of a discovery that would completely change his life.
In his mind, plans and strategies were forged to make the most of his new strength.
Pum! Pum! Pum!
Moving from side to side, Kiran hadn't realized that his speed at this moment was not human. He didn't know where this super-soldier injection came from, but to be honest, it was evident that wherever he wanted it to come from, it was definitely not human.
While sweat soaked his body and the sound of blows echoed in the air, Kiran smiled with satisfaction. He knew that with this strength, he could eliminate those dark entities without risking anyone's life.
