Chapter 80: The Job Must Be Done Regardless of the Reward
Upon hearing this new mission after some time, Anton closed his eyes for a moment. "In the end, the job must be done regardless of the rewards." He didn't care at all about the rewards; obviously, he had to be strong to complete the missions and eliminate evil in this world, so as long as he had the skills to win, it was more than enough to continue the work.
It can be said that the task's difficulty depends on the reward. The higher the reward, the more challenging the task, and the stronger the supernatural enemy he would face.
"Priest Anton, you may think I'm crazy, but I believe I need your help in a crime that is currently taking place. The story is similar to what I told you a few hours ago, remember?"
The one who called was Raúl, who had taken Anton's phone number and made sure to have it in case he needed his help at some point. It might be a bit burdensome now, but considering that Anton offered his help at any time, he knew he would understand.
"There is a process that is done in these cases; the detective in charge of this operation should know what to do when they mention that darkness is more present than ever." Anton looked at the mission, walked to a computer, and immediately sent an alert request to his secret base in the Light Association.
"Put me through to that man; I want him to tell me everything himself."
"Will you really take it seriously?"
Anton took his backpack and began walking towards the shelves where he kept all his work equipment. "As I told you, everything in this life is possible."
"All right, Priest Anton, I'll connect you to Derek."
"Very well..." Anton stopped talking as a cold look shone in his eyes. There weren't many demons that could affect the world in general, so knowing that the reward is spatial means that the way of killing people was rigid.
It's surprising that someone can realize that something supernatural is happening, so considering that humans know that something bad is happening, it means that the demon is very strong.
The important thing is that the weapons storage he worked so hard to prepare finally has a purpose.
In the past, he was much more dependent on weapons, but now his skills are more versatile. Comparing the difficulty of previous tasks, Anton only felt that the difficulty of this task would be about three times greater than the previous one.
"A very strong demon..."
Anton looked at the mission window that had not yet disappeared, tossed the backpack he had in his hand to the side, picked up the new empty bag, and first walked to the shelf where firearms were placed. The first thing he wanted to look at was a pistol.
Upon reaching the pistol category, Anton looked at all of them, directly skipping pistols that were too powerful and stopping at the level of revolvers.
In the classification of pistols, revolvers have a relatively simple structure and can fire larger-caliber bullets, so they are generally more powerful than magazine-type pistols.
The most powerful revolver among revolvers would be...
Anton's eyes searched for a good revolver placed on the shelf. "Magnum 500... It had a caliber of 12.7, and it was more than perfect for this special mission. This weapon was modified; its color was completely black, and the bullets were of a special caliber that everyone was accustomed to.
Its purpose of use is not for humans but for the hunting of large animals, including brown bears, buffaloes, and large boars.
"I should take both." With meticulous preparation for each piece of information, Anton first placed two holsters on his ribs, then took a belt full of ammunition and strapped it to his waist. His belt had thirty special bullets, each different from the other and effective against supernatural beings.
After completing this step, Anton walked to the next shelf, and after taking some gloves, he stopped.
Now that he has a personal defense pistol, he naturally has to have a primary weapon responsible for attacking. As the primary weapon, he has his light sword, which at first glance can only be seen as a silver handle, and with the strength of faith, a light sword illuminates to end supernatural spirits.
Without thinking too much, Anton took this sword and placed it in a special holster on his arm. Then he took a dagger hidden in a silver rosary.
According to the story Derek told him, the most likely thing is that the devil walking the world and incarnating as a human to judge sinners is his true form.
Although he doesn't know why this demon can remain in the human world, Anton is now preparing to deal with the demon itself, which is completely incarnated in someone's body.
In other words, he was mentally preparing to kill.
Now that he has the primary and secondary weapons, the next step is the auxiliary weapons.
To deal specifically with demons, he prepared many things. To give a little shock to the devil, Anton walked to the grenade area, picked up ten grenades, and put them in his bag one by one.
Although he didn't know if the grenade had any effect on the demon's body, he still had to try it. Of course, most likely, he would first use holy water to break the demon's defense and then bombard with grenades, all depending on the situation.
So, finally, he put on a new belt where there were tubes of holy water.
Anton knew that, despite having support, he liked to be prepared for anything. He didn't want to send people who could die on the mission, so as long as he could do it, he wouldn't have any problems.
Finally, he walked and took a bag of golden metal powder; this was to set up a provisional barrier to suppress external enemies.
"Sir, we're outside your house." Rafael called Anton and informed him directly.
As a guardian, Anton had a new status, so after leaving, he got into a black car, and a caravan drove directly to the location where the incident was taking place.
