Chapter 74: The Angel of Death
"If that above all is watching me, I ask for forgiveness. From this moment on, I am the blinder of evil. I will move my sword against those who do not deserve to live and will end both the living and the dead. I await forgiveness from the one who sent me here and eternal rest for all those who are killed tonight by me."
Anton, sitting on his motorcycle, thought of this short prayer to calm the nerves that were consuming him. He knew it wasn't his task, but a part of him was telling him that he must eradicate all evil in this world, ignoring whether they were alive or dead.
Without considering himself a god, Anton knew that he was a kind of blinder to evil, or at least he wanted to consider himself that way. From now on, many would call him the Angel of Death, the one who, when appearing, would eliminate all evil without stopping until the end.
It was like this: approximately ten minutes after the bar incident, another bloody shootout erupted in a newspaper warehouse. Seven deaths were recorded there, all with a gunshot to the head.
Half an hour later, according to the memories of nearby neighbors, another shootout occurred in the post office building. Twelve workers in that place were brutally murdered by the man dressed in black.
Two hours later, another violent attack occurred with fifteen victims, all killed by a very violent explosion.
Three hours later, there was a shootout in a hotel room where ten people died.
Those not involved were fortunate enough to escape with their lives. In that room, the surviving waiter recounted everything to the police who came to interrogate him and showed them the only photograph taken of the man responsible for the massacre.
When these police officers handed the report to a female detective, she sighed deeply and murmured, "All the people who died were members of the Tarasov mafia. This killer is extremely dangerous and came with a purpose. He destroyed all the cameras that could capture him, wiped out the hard drives and most storage devices, and also wore a helmet that covered his face. We don't even know the color of his skin."
Having said this, the female detective muttered, "Unfortunately for us, we can only use this photo to track down who the killer is, although I really doubt whether I'm chasing a criminal or a hero who killed all these bad people."
"A professional killer?"
"Maybe a very good one..."
...
Church early in the morning.
A man in his thirties was talking to the young priest, who seemed much quieter than usual.
"Priest Anton, some trivial things have happened recently that bother and confuse me. I don't know what to do with these little things, so I hope for your advice."
Anton, who hadn't slept since yesterday due to the massacre he had committed, stood in front of this man. His expression was impassive, as if none of these murders had created a psychological burden for him.
Upon hearing the concerns of an ordinary person, Anton put a hand on the man's shoulder and said, "I understand that sometimes we overlook seemingly trivial things, but they can also cause us problems if we are too careless. Please tell me about a specific problem you face or what trivial thing confuses you."
The man took a deep breath and said, "Priest Anton, I've had a small dispute with my neighbor. We had an argument in the parking lot, and our relationship has become tense. I don't know what measures should be taken to resolve this issue."
Anton thought about it for a moment and didn't quite understand if this was something trivial or not. Still, being in this place helped clear his mind a bit, and because he was increasingly associated with this identity, he decided to respond as best as possible. "I can give you an answer... Are you willing to listen?"
The man nodded. "Yes, priest."
Upon hearing this, Anton's tone did not change. "Firstly, understanding and tolerance are crucial when it comes to trivial matters. You could try sitting down with your neighbor and having a genuine conversation, explaining your perspective and feelings, and trying to find a compromise between both. Documenting parking rules and sharing them with your neighbor could be a good starting point."
"At the same time, you must also learn to tolerate and understand others, trying to prevent trivial matters from affecting your daily interactions. This time it may be a verbal argument; tomorrow it could escalate to physical fights; and there will come a point where one of you might attempt to take the other's life."
In the end, the man took out some bills and put them in the offering box in front of the statue of Jesus, then left satisfied, leaving the priest feeling a bit more at ease after helping a confused person.
"It's time to rest..." Anton looked at the few believers still sitting on the benches, praying with closed eyes. He shook his head and sat down on the opposite benches, wanting to check his attributes.

Maybe he was strong now, but he knew that there were still things he had never faced before, and they were stronger than he was now, so he didn't trust himself too much.
He had to train the agents of light to be more effective. After all, now as a Guardian, he needed to take care of a secret base and have access to a broader view.
Once he finished what he was doing here, he went home to take a shower and rest his mind. He had killed many people, so now he just wanted to sleep.
