64 - The ancients
"A cave with alien traces?" This is a phrase that Luke had come across and related to many things since he woke up in the body of a wolf.
Do extraterrestrial beings really exist from before, or is it just emerging in the world now? No matter how Luke questions these questions, what is in front of his eyes is simply the truth.
There were indeed aliens on Earth, at least from his perspective as an ordinary civilian before awakening in the body of a wolf. Now, the question is whether this place poses any danger.
Finding this place again might be difficult as the snow can conceal the trail of this hidden cave, and his hidden interest had also awakened as his wounds healed.
"I will just explore a little, not go beyond where my eyes can see..." Making a decision, Luke looked towards the hole outside where Baxter was howling, and he responded with a loud howl.
"Auuuuu!"
After signaling Baxter to be quiet, he tried to reassure him that he was okay and would be out in a moment. Now, having resolved the small details around him, he cautiously ventured into the cave.
"[Strong traces of alien creatures detected!]"
As Luke advanced into the depths of this deep crevice-like cave, he could see long marks on the walls of dry ice as if some claws had left these traces.
Just as Luke was about to proceed, he saw a drawing that left him frozen. "That's a wolf..."
"... Species: Unknown... Vague traces of ancient Arctic wolves have been found
Level: Undetectable
Esper Energy: Unknown
Resistance: Unknown

Speed: Unknown...]"
"[Zerding language detected!]"
Luke's eyes observed those strange symbols and soon, with the help of his evolutionary system, he discovered that it was a language. With the assistance of his panel, he comprehended what was written on the wall.
"[Species detected, Zerdin!]"
"This painting is not made by humans..."
...
On this imposing ice wall, there was an ancient painting that emanated an aura of respect, power, and pride. At first glance, the artwork captured the essence of a bygone era, evoking the greatness of the ancient Zerdin wolves.
The painting stretched along the wall, covering a vast surface. With firm and precise strokes, it depicted an Arctic wolf with a penetrating gaze and fur as white as snow. Its eyes, filled with wisdom and bravery, seemed to challenge the observer with their intensity.
The wolf portrayed in the painting exuded a majestic aura. Its imposing posture and well-defined musculature reflected the strength and power that characterized the Zerdins. Every detail, from the tufts of hair bristling on its neck to the sharp claws protruding from its paws, conveyed a sense of dominance and mastery.
Surrounding it, the scene was framed by elements of the Arctic nature. Snowflakes danced in the air, while snow-covered mountains rose majestically in the background. The painting seemed to capture the essence of the icy environment and convey the deep connection of the Zerdin wolves with their habitat.
The colors used in the painting were subtle yet vibrant. Shades of icy blue and pure white harmoniously blended, creating a sensation of intense coldness and serenity. The carefully crafted strokes brought every detail to life, giving the image a lifelike quality before the viewer's eyes.
Observing the painting, one couldn't help but feel a reverence for the history and legacy of the Zerdins. It conveyed a sense of pride and belonging to an ancient and powerful race whose members had gracefully and skillfully dominated the frozen lands.
That painting on the ice wall was much more than a mere artistic representation. It was a tribute to the greatness of the Zerdin wolves, a window to the past that reminded all who beheld it that power and bravery intertwined in their lineage.
With its imposing presence and transcendent meaning, the painting on the ice wall stood as a symbol of respect and admiration for the ancient Zerdin wolves. It was a reminder that even in the furthest and most forgotten epochs, their legacy and spirit lived on in every corner of the Arctic.
Now, Luke knew that in ancient times, there existed a powerful species of wolves called the Zerdins. However, who named them so, and why was this painting made?
Luke continued walking deeper into the cave, now more intrigued. His white fur was stained with blood, and his paws trembled from the intense cold penetrating his bones. As he advanced through the dark and narrow passages, faint light seeped through the cracks in the snow-covered ceiling, illuminating the mysterious cave.
The cave walls were adorned with ancient inscriptions carefully carved into the frozen rock. The runes seemed to tell the story of the ancient wolves, their power, and their legacy lost in time. Luke approached them, trying to decipher their meaning despite his weakened state.
As he progressed, he noticed intricate details and symbols representing the nature and strength of the Zerdins. Images of wolves running through snowy landscapes, cunningly hunting and fiercely defending their territory adorned the walls. Each precisely carved detail conveyed the history of a powerful and proud race.
The cold was relentless in the cave, but Luke couldn't afford to stop. His steps echoed in the silence, accompanied by the crunch of snow under his paws. He reached a large central chamber, where he found an altar covered in snow and ice. On it rested a collar, shining and majestic, symbolizing the power and authority of the ancient Zerdins.
"What is this?"
Luke approached the collar with reverence, feeling its ancestral energy emanating from it. He contemplated it with his weary yet determined eyes, aware that he had been chosen to carry on the legacy of the Zerdins. Despite the wounds and the encroaching cold, Luke felt revitalized by the importance of this mission.
The ruins and details of the cave spoke of a time when the ancient wolves lived in harmony with their frozen surroundings. The cave was a sanctuary of knowledge and wisdom, a place that connected the glorious past with the challenging present.
With a mixture of respect and determination, Luke took the collar and fastened it around his neck. The cold metal melded with his fur, and Luke felt a deep connection with the ancient Zerdins.
"Oh my God!" Luke felt something cold around his neck, as if it were armor protecting the most vital area of his body.
"[Congratulations on obtaining the ancient collar of the Arctic Supreme Lord!
Type: Alien artifact.
Description: A collar with potential attributes including unmatched ancestral protection, amplified strength, mental clarity, energetic protection, connection to nature, Esper strength, dominant magnetism.
Abilities: Passives...]"
Now, Luke unconsciously knew that he had become the bearer of their legacy, the guardian of their history, and the hope for the future of this extinct race.
With firm steps, Luke exited the Zerdins' cave, once again facing the harsh cold of the Arctic. But this time, he carried more than just his own determination. He carried the strength and courage of the ancient wolves, and the commitment to protect and preserve their legacy in a changing world.
"I won't leave you here..." Luke looked at the brown bear, and after approaching it, he felt a surge of power enhancing all his basic attributes, so he immediately dragged it towards the cave's exit.
As he emerged from the cave, Luke looked out at the horizon, unaware that his body had now completely transformed.
