Chapter 10: An Incident
As Anton headed to the area where he usually sat to wait for early risers who wanted to talk, at the end of the path to the strange right, there was a small room, similar to a hall, without many things taking up its ample space. There were statues on the walls of saints, chairs with a very antique look, and a more secret area where people could pray in secret.
Anton walked towards that darker room and approached a statue. After observing for a few minutes under his backpack, he changed his shoes to more comfortable ones.
In comparison to common people, the attire of priests is quite distinctive. It varies according to the denomination and occasion but commonly includes a cassock, stole, and chasuble during liturgical ceremonies. The color of the vestments may change according to the liturgical season.
But Anton, being an exorcist priest, wore a black suit under his equally black cassock that covered most of his body. The black boots on his feet were special as they were made similar to military ones, with areas of his clothing reinforced to resist very peculiar attacks.
The outfits of an exorcist priest are made for unexpected combat; they could face a werewolf anytime, anywhere, so they must be prepared for it. It's evident that normal attire won't do, and that's why a lot is invested in their armament.
"Something simpler..." Anton left his suit but took off the upper black cassock that was tightly fitted to his body. He took a golden bible, and after looking at himself in a mirror, he nodded at how good he looked.
In an instant, the fierceness on his face calmed, and instead, a compassionate, loving young priest with a vivid look in his eyes appeared.
Ready, Anton averted his gaze from the mirror, smoothed out the wrinkles in his clothes, and left the room as he headed towards a place where he might find people.
But just as he walked, Anton felt a figure behind him that hadn't been there before. "How come you're there?"
At that moment, a cold sensation flooded Anton's body, and immediately, he reached into his bag, pulled out a metal tube, and waited in silence before summoning a sword of light.
"It's impossible for a dark entity to enter a church." Anton muttered as he turned around, but in the distance, far behind him, there was absolutely nothing.
"Was it my imagination?"
Seeing the empty church, Anton wondered if what he had just felt was his imagination. He couldn't think of anything else right now because he clearly felt that he was being watched by a dark entity.
Not sure, Anton walked down the aisle at the back of the church, wanting to know if there was something in that place that no one had found out about.
Crack!
At that moment, a sharp sound of something breaking was heard on the floor, and when Anton looked down, he was surprised to find frost.
"Manifestation..." Anton was surprised to see this because it only happened with high-ranking dark entities, so he knew for sure that something was happening around him.
"Regardless of what you are, I will exterminate you."
Anton advanced without caring about the danger, frowned, and focused his mind on any kind of enemy that might be around. But just before he boarded the car, a girl with a nervous expression ran and collided with Anton.
"Ouch!"
After receiving numerous strength boosts through the aid system, his physical condition had improved tremendously. His whole body was as hard and resistant as the muscles of a fierce beast.
"A teenager?" Anton thought after seeing the girl who had hit his shoulder. Now that he knew more or less what was happening, he decided to help the girl first.
"Are you okay?"
Anton expressed his concern and immediately extended a hand, wanting to lift the girl. However, when the girl looked up, Anton was surprised to see her face.
Not that this girl was ugly.
To be honest, she was quite pretty considering she wasn't wearing any kind of makeup.
However, the dark circles under the girl's eyes were very dense, as if they were drawn with a black marker.
At least Anton could swear he had never seen such severe dark circles.
The girl looked at Anton and shook her head.
She hurriedly got up, and she ran away. It seemed she had something urgent to attend to.
"Are you in trouble?" Anton asked aloud, looking at the back of the girl, who had run away. He thought that the girl was being pursued by a spirit, but there was no reaction when he touched her hand with his special ability.
"It's none of your business, priest!"
Anton scratched his chin. Since the other party didn't want to say anything, he treated it as a small interlude. How do you explain what happened? Well, he didn't have an answer for that.
"What's this?" Anton's gaze suddenly landed on a piece of paper on the ground. It seemed to have fallen from the girl a moment ago.
After picking it up, he realized it was a drawing with the face of a goat.
But this wasn't an ordinary goat.
This goat had a very large body, huge muscles, and arms so long, with very sharp claws protruding from its fingers. However, its lips were very red, and the white fur on its body made it look like a goat. But most strikingly, its eyes were not of a normal red color. Instead, they were the color of fresh blood. Its face was very pale, and a row of sharp teeth could be seen in its mouth; it was a terrifying appearance.
Anton frowned and wondered, "A cursed object?"
Just this simple drawing would make one feel extremely terrified and uncomfortable. And he could feel it—that sensation of touching death as if it were close to his hands.
He turned around and saw that the girl had already disappeared, so he couldn't return the paper even if he wanted to.
After reaching a conclusion, he took out his cell phone and sent a message: "Special case in my jurisdiction area, a girl with a red hoodie and school uniform."
