48 - Baxter...
After a few hundred meters, Baxter forgot that he had encountered a polar bear head on. He was now only interested in returning to the cave as soon as possible while carrying the wolf fish in his mouth.
The layer of ice they were on was not too far from where the cave was, so the journey was quiet and there were no hunters daring to steal their food.
After arriving at the mountain where their cave was, Baxter wanted to drag the wolf fish back to the cave, but this task required a lot of effort, so halfway through, he crawled back down with the wolf fish.
Although Baxter had leveled up, he still couldn't climb the mountain with a wolf fish weighing more than twenty kilograms. He tried several times without success, and on his last attempt, he dropped the prey hunted by Luke from his mouth.
Bark! Bark! Bark!
Baxter couldn't help but become anxious.
In the end, Luke was the one who dragged the wolf fish back to the cave. But Baxter didn't leave his side, as if he was afraid that he would also drop the fish.
...
In the cave, Luke threw the wolf fish on the ground. Previously, he had already thrown the Arctic trout in front of the wolves, and Ondina and Ardad were the most curious.
But the wolves, having eaten brown bear meat today, were full, so they could only smell this unfamiliar prey.
No one was sure what they had in front of them. They had hardly even left the cave except for Ardad, who had gone hunting with Baxter once to familiarize himself with the environment, but even then he hadn't seen much. Naturally, none of them knew about fish in the Arctic Ocean.
At this moment, Baxter approached everyone and danced around the fish while wagging his tail.
"Look at this tender meat with bones!"
"Taste this juicy and delicious meat!"
"Guys, this is fish!"
Even though there was no language to communicate, everyone saw Baxter howling about Luke's power and skill in catching these beautiful, fat, and wonderful fish.
But naturally, even though Baxter's IQ has improved a lot, he can only express some complicated meanings.
But Anie, Ondina, and Ardad, with a simple kind of thinking, still don't understand what Baxter means.
They were all sitting in front of Baxter, looking at him in silence, as if none of them knew what this stupid wolf wanted to say to them, but as the eldest, everyone needed to pay attention to him so as not to hurt his fragile wolf heart.
However, they understood one thing from all these strange gestures of Baxter, and that was that fish was a very delicious food.
Guau!
The wolves nodded their heads to express that they understood.
But Anie patted her slightly big stomach, a little annoyed that Baxter had taken so long to return if he brought new and delicious food as he claimed.
But Ardad, who was the most curious about it, opened the fish's stomach and tasted it. After tasting it, his eyes lit up.
It was true, certainly delicious, and had a lot of water. It should be noted that wolves don't usually go to rivers or ponds to obtain water, but instead get most of their water from their prey, which offer them this important resource, so there's no need to frequently leave to drink water.
In relative terms, Ardad's moderation was relatively strong.
But he was already full, so he only tasted it since he was curious, but didn't continue eating more. Anyway, the food is in the cave and won't disappear out of nowhere.
It's the same as when Luke ate as a human, there was cake in the fridge, but there was no need to eat it now since that food won't disappear overnight.
Luke dragged the huge wolf fish to the side of the cave. Its sharp claws rose and then he cut the wolf fish. The inside was quickly revealed, and the fish was extremely tender inside.
Without much thought, he ate a large piece of the bloody meat and didn't drop much on the ground.
The flesh of this fresh and tender fish had a slight sweetness to it in the mouth, not to mention the large amount of water it was providing him. This is because wolf fish are aggressive and fierce by nature.
The meat of fish that often fight is naturally more delicious and elastic than ordinary fish, or at least that was what Luke had experienced all this time.
"[16 points evolution points gained for eating Anarhichas denticulatus]"
The points obtained for this wolf fish were not small at all. And this is only due to the potion that had helped him raise his points by three.
"[15 points evolution points gained for eating Anarhichas denticulatus]"
"[15.5 points evolution points gained for eating Anarhichas denticulatus]"
"[14 points evolution points gained for eating Anarhichas denticulatus]"
...
After eating, he obtained a large amount of evolutionary points in total. It was true that this was due to the potion he had taken, but it was also because the food was completely different from what he had tried before.
Walking towards the entrance of the cave, Luke didn't know how or what awaited him in the future, but what he did know was that he would survive until he became old and wrinkled.
As for who his mate would be, Luke had not really felt a romantic affection where his hormones directed him towards reproduction. He didn't know much about it, but he didn't care about having a partner on this cold continent.
Although just thinking about it feels strange, a part of him really wants to experience love.
"Hehe, I must be losing my mind... Maybe I'm already a wolf, it doesn't matter..."
