38 - Pearl and voices
Luke looked at the meat in front of him and saw a small pearl shining in the female brown bear's stomach. With the help of his evolutionary panel, he discovered that it was not something bad, so after hesitating for a few seconds, he decided to swallow it.
As soon as that pearl entered his stomach, he felt something cold and after a few seconds, a kind of hot energy spread throughout his body, turning into evolutionary points.
"[Congratulations on eating a female brown bear's Esper energy core and obtaining an evolutionary value of +60 points!]"
More than sixty evolutionary points!
This made Luke, who thought he was eating a rock that he would later have to defecate and at the same time feared that his pipes would be blocked, unconsciously wagged his tail with joy.
He really didn't expect to get any evolutionary value from a pearl.
What was that Esper energy pearl? Assuming that the female brown bear had an Esper energy pearl in her body, Luke probably had one too.
With everything that was happening, Luke had enough evidence to say that the animals in the Arctic were changing, or possibly he was hallucinating due to the ice fungus he ate in his dreams.
It's possible that this Esper energy is something new, but he had never opened the stomach of a bear or wolf to confirm his suspicions. Therefore, unless something really incredible happens, it's best not to think about these kinds of things.
Sometimes thoughts are what prevent us from moving forward, and now Luke needed to keep going.
But this was the first time he had encountered this kind of pearl, so he thought it only appeared in living beings that had surpassed level ten.
By the time Luke calmed his thoughts, he was already completely full.
After that, he withdrew from the corpse, arrived at the entrance of the cave, and all he saw was how the icy winds whipped the entrance of the cave and how that huge darkness ate up any trace of light.
The polar night had been going on for almost a month.
According to the location of this area, Luke had come to the conclusion that in a few months, the light would return to this place.
At that time, migratory animals will also return to start a new wave of reproduction.
But it's true that many won't make it because in this period, food begins to become scarce.
...
Volgograd, Rusia.
At this precise moment, this beautiful city in Russia belonged to the Arctic Circle.
At the moment, a man held a miniature drone and toyed with it with great interest.
"This damn miniature thing cost over 400 dollars, a little over 35,000 rubles... wouldn't it be better to get them from China? I read on the internet that they bring the cheapest things from there..." Brad couldn't stop complaining about the drone he had bought.
Caesar beside him just rubbed his forehead in pain. If buying something hurts you so much, why do you do it? Looking at this actor in the making, he said, "If you want to read the damn manuals in Chinese, go ahead, but most likely that drone will arrive in pieces..."
Brad looked at Caeser and gave him a nice gesture with the middle finger of his hand. "If it weren't for the loss of the camera, we wouldn't be in this place and I wouldn't have to spend over 35,000 rubles, the power of the butterfly effect..."
"Butterfly effect? Brad, are you high? We're here because you lowered the drone enough for an arctic rabbit to knock it to the ground, this is insane..."
"No, it wasn't an arctic rabbit, didn't they say it was a polar bear?" Brad was confused and overwhelmed by the drone jokes.
Since they lost the drone with the camera, every time they talk about it, they make countless jokes about how an arctic rabbit knocked the drone down.
"Are you kidding me? Because right now, I'm really pissed off, and believe me, when I'm pissed off, everyone is pissed off."
"How many times have you said you're pissed off already because we're not clear on it?" Coin squinted her eyes and asked.
"Did I even ask you, darling?" Brad also squinted his eyes.
"Fuck, and in the fucking reports, we have written excellent work environment, I'm sure if they had weapons right now, they'd cause a disaster." Finnick shook his head and after they carefully put the new drone they acquired into the truck, he got in.
"We'd cause a disaster? Brad caused a fucking disaster with a drone worth thousands of dollars, thousands." Caesar dramatically exclaimed word by word.
"Yeah? I'm sure there's not a fucking man within ten kilometers who can move better in the air with a drone." Brad also got in the car.
"Damn, do you have a license to operate drones? If so, they should take it away from you..."
"Why are we still talking about drones months later?" Rue, who had not spoken until now, intervened in Brad and Caesar's dramatic fight.
"What?" Brad and Caesar looked at her at the same time.
"I was just saying..."
"Now that I remember, you were the one who suggested going out and filming with the drone when the power went out all over the arctic." Brad pulled out the thorn stuck in his thoughts.
"Ooooh!" Coin exclaimed in surprise.
"Here it comes..." Finnick closed his eyes.
"Now you blame me for your shit, Brad? You were asked ten times if you could handle the drone and you said yes, ten fucking times." Rue stared at Brad.
"Ten times? I don't remember that, you weren't making coffee with your friend, we were doing the work..." As if Caesar were Brad's best friend, he said those words.
"Wait, what does that have to do with anything?" Rue was confused.
"That was extreme, Brad had to step back.
"Oh, I don't even remember, hahaha." Caesar looked at his friend and quickly pulled out a hand-woven wolf keychain and said, "Look, my grandmother made it..."
"Wait, you didn't just buy that keychain..." Brad looked at Caesar confused.
"Why don't you just shut up for once?" Caesar opened his eyes with annoyance.
"I don't want your keychain, I work hard enough..."
"Excellent work environment, I should quit or I'll go crazy..." Finnick put on headphones to stop listening to the commotion for a few minutes.
