32 - The extreme night (1)
In the dark night, it can be incredibly frightening for many, especially if you are alone in the middle of nowhere. No matter where you walk, the sounds around you make your body nervous.
When the wind howls, it means that a predator is watching you... Someone in the darkness is watching you right now, you can't see them but you can perfectly feel their presence...
But the dark night where you don't know where you're stepping and the cold wind makes everything more difficult, that kind of life is normal for animals in the current Arctic continent.
As if their unbearable climate, food scarcity, and hungry predators weren't enough, when there is no sun, light disappears.
And under the extreme night, the surroundings devoid of life seemed very quiet.
Luke had stopped making sounds and soon came to a snowy slope where he had been observing his prey for the last few days.
It's not incredible that brown bears require a large amount of food for hibernation, so it's common for them to come out for food during the last few days before their isolation.
But once brown bears establish their shelter, they usually don't go very far.
It was common to know where there could be a brown bear, as the bushes near their cave disappear.
Now, right at this moment, the female brown bear was on the bushes' twigs looking for fruit or lice to eat.
But while she didn't find any food that would satisfy the female brown bear's stomach, she started eating moss and the tenderest parts of the bush.
Just by seeing her behavior, it's easy to know when there are problems or not.
Although leaves, fruits, and roots are part of a brown bear's diet, eating at that speed was strange.
The cold was descending more and more, and the snow was increasing in size.
But just when the female brown bear was about to walk towards another bush, her nose wrinkled.
There was a very different smell!
It wasn't hares, fruit, or moss, nor was it her own smell.
That smell that caught her attention belonged to a wolf!
Therefore, upon sensing this smell very close to her, she straightened her body and began to look around.
It should be a pack of wolves passing through to their shelter!
After a few seconds, the female brown bear stopped paying attention.
What pack of wolves in this situation would dare to face a female brown bear?
But just at that moment, on a nearby slope to the female brown bear's position, a pair of crimson eyes shone with sinister intent.
With arrogance, the huge Arctic wolf that was motionless didn't hide its figure and simply kept looking at its prey.
When that killer intent became stronger, the female brown bear found the source of the smell that had disturbed her and then growled, she wanted this wolf to leave this place.
She is aware that she is now in a state of weakness, so she cannot try to face a pack of wolves, much less such a large Arctic wolf.
So considering all her disadvantages, the female brown bear didn't bother trying to do something that would be difficult for her.
Roar!
The roar of a brown bear is deep, muffled, and ferocious.
That roar echoed in the cold night.
In the reasoning of the female brown bear, as long as she acted aggressively, that Arctic wolf would flee with fear in its eyes. Therefore, after marking her territory, she started to eat again.
But just after the female brown bear looked away, she discovered that the scent still remained in that place.
However, there was something very strange.
That smell was closer to her!
This made the female brown bear turn around.
Seeing that the Arctic wolf had slowly descended from the snowy slope, it was now not far from her.
This is abnormal!
Now, the female brown bear seemed to realize something.
Her pair of black eyes looked at the Arctic wolf in front of her with some amazement.
Does this Arctic wolf consider her as prey?
After this thought came to her mind, the female brown bear was completely furious!
How dare you?
How dare you have such an idea?
How dare a simple Arctic wolf hunt bears?
Roar!
What audacity!
This time, she did not roar just to drive away the Arctic wolf.
In this action, the female brown bear was really angry.
She was really angry at the ignorance of this Arctic wolf!
The heavy two paws of the female brown bear struck the nearby bushes heavily, shaking the bare bushes with only a few old branches.
But her angry appearance did not scare the Arctic wolf on the opposite side.
This Arctic wolf seemed to ignore her threats.
At the same time, those red eyes only silently watched the female brown bear.
It was as if the eyes of an evil spirit coming out of hell were looking at its prey.
At this moment, although she did not know why a simple Arctic wolf a little larger was so brave, the intentions were clear.
Rrrr!
The female brown bear growled, standing up, her huge body of over two meters in height now facing the Arctic wolf in front of her.
Even if she had just given birth and her strength had been reduced a bit, the female brown bear did not think much about the predator in front of her.
The natural law of the strongest does not speak of sizes, there is no magic, only a predator commonly known as weaker in front of another recognized as stronger!
In nature, there is only one great truth!
The weak are food for the strong, the winner is the king!
If there is an Arctic wolf in front of the female brown bear who cannot recognize that truth, it can become its food.
Auuuu!
But at that moment, in response, the strong howl of the Arctic wolf also echoed in the darkness.
...
Luke looked at the female brown bear with fury running through every part of his body, opened his mouth, revealing his sharp fangs.
His eyes shone with ferocity and unprecedented cruelty, the killing intent in his body was directed towards that deaf female bear without any fear.
The blood in his body boiled!
Now, only in terms of size, Luke did not consider himself smaller than the female brown bear.
At the moment, it's only because brown bears are considered stronger than wolves in terms of defense, strength, and endurance. And although a bear may not be as fast as other living beings, their endurance is what makes them formidable predators.
But for Luke, speed is the advantage he has against his prey.
As soon as he feels he can't take down the female brown bear in front of him, fleeing won't be a problem. The chances of being chased are minimal, since the female bear has to take care of her cub.
When Luke thought about that, the distance between him and his enemy decreased significantly.
Luke moved first and, at a speed close to forty meters per second, struck his enemy like lightning.
For the female Arctic bear facing Luke, this is the first time she's seen such a large and fast Arctic wolf.
Is it still a common wolf in the Arctic?
Even the fastest creatures in this place rarely have such speed.
Right now there was a touch of surprise in the furious eyes of the female Arctic bear.
Roar!
Roaring again, doing everything possible to stay in battle with that fast Arctic wolf, she also prepared. Now it was dark, and as if she wasn't suffering enough from the lack of visibility, it was difficult to see where the shadow of the wolf was.
Just when she was about to raise her huge bear paw and knock down the shadow of the Arctic wolf in the darkness, she was the first to be attacked.
Boom!
With a speed of 110 and a powerful force of 90, the powerful attack hit the head of the female brown bear with force.
In seconds, a deep and bloody wound appeared on the forehead of the female Arctic bear.
The pain of the wound made the hair on the female brown bear stand on end in alert, blood flowed and slid down her forehead staining her eyes red.
If there was light, Luke could have discovered that the wound was very frightening.
Roar!
This time she didn't hesitate, the female Arctic bear roared with pain in her tone.
She didn't expect to be injured in the first blow.
The pain on her face silently told her that this Arctic wolf is not simple and from now on, she should not take it lightly!
On the other hand, after Luke successfully struck his prey, he turned around and made distance.
A pair of crimson wolf eyes shone fiercely in the dark night.
As for the thick front paws of the female brown bear, they were put underneath her as she prepared to attack.
Boom!
Luke had attacked the female brown bear again, but this time the result did not work. Under the defense and added attack of the female brown bear, his attack was dampened.
Under the conscious defense of the female brown bear, an attack with 90 force did not work out as Luke expected.
But even though there was no deep wound, he did leave superficial wounds on his enemy.
In response, the female brown bear found an opportunity. At the moment Luke attacked, she positioned her body and launched an attack on her enemy's head with her large bear paw.
It's just that Luke's reaction speed was very fast, he turned around and escaped the attack of the female brown bear.
Those pairs of bear paws hit the ice and snow, causing the snow and ice to fly in all directions.
The terrifying force of hundreds of kilos of the female brown bear is undeniably scary.
Even with Luke's defense, that attack could result in serious injury.
Rrrr!
Luke let out a roar.
He fixed his eyes on his enemy, his sharp fangs exposed, ready to pierce the skin of that huge female Arctic bear.
He was smart and knew he couldn't cling to his enemy's neck like he had with the female Musk Ox. Not only because the female brown bear is very flexible, but also because of her powerful paws that could easily grasp vital areas of his body.
For now, the only thing Luke could do was slowly inflict wounds on the female brown bear's body, creating a battle of attrition and vitality.
Roar!
Under this strategy, this was a battle to see who would lose more blood. Therefore, Luke stabilized his breathing.
But the female brown bear was not that patient, so she immediately ran towards Luke with a furious expression.
The brown bear's run when angry had already reached an impressive speed.
And Luke, who had his goals clear, ran towards his enemy and jumped, his claws stretched out again and like a sharp knife, his enemy's flesh was pierced this time quite easily.
...
33 - The extreme night (2)
The following attack by Luke after piercing its skin was seen by the crazed eyes of the female brown bear.
Her bloodshot eyes saw Luke's next attack with clarity.
Roar!
With a long and angry roar, the huge front paw of the female brown bear crashed into Luke.
Boom!
At this moment, a wolf's claw clashed with that of a bear.
There was no more than a thirty-point difference between the attacks, although the female brown bear had the weight advantage.
Therefore, this attack caused Luke's front paw to feel numb after being forcefully rejected by his enemy.
Under the effect of the anti-shock force, Luke was surrounded and pushed back before he could do anything to cancel out the push force.
There were two kinds of blows, those that caused damage and those that pushed with weight. In his previous life, Luke remembers playing blows with his friends. It was all blurry, but there was a very clear scene that was engraved in his memories. Forming a circle, everyone who wanted to play would give a blow to the partner next to them. On that occasion, Luke was among a pretty big friend.
His blows were more impressive than they seemed, they didn't do much damage, but the pushing force due to his weight was very strong and made him step back several steps without being able to do anything.
This situation was no different, the female brown bear did not use a lethal attack to send Luke flying. After knowing that he was at a considerable distance, she moved her front claws to control her body and give her time to think.
But even though his inner thoughts were very calm, his external instinct was violent and very aggressive.
He wants to shred the female brown bear!
Luke wants to hunt down a damn brown bear!
This battle was impressive, a completely different challenge than Luke had ever faced. Therefore, in the following moments his savagery was reflected in his actions.
Roar!
As soon as the female brown bear succeeded in the blow, she quickly ran towards Luke with a fierce expression on her face.
But at the same time, Luke's front claws, which had served to stabilize his body, made him react at the same time as his enemy and also moved towards the female brown bear.
Luke's next attack was very clever, taking advantage of his enemy's advance, he made a feint and after colliding with the female brown bear, when the large body had blocked his vision, Luke quickly moved to her back.
According to the body of a brown bear, the neck is still its weak point, so thinking about it, Luke hit with all his might.
Rrrr!
One scratch!
Two!
Three!
Luke had the chance to attack three times in a row before being forced to retreat, his sharp claws were already considered sharp blades.
At this point, the female brown bear's neck was severely scratched several times in a uniform manner and there were spots of blood sliding over her fur.
Luke's successive attacks almost caused the female brown bear to fall to the ground.
But due to anger and the pumping of blood, the female brown bear resisted. The sharp pain in her neck drove her crazy.
Roar!
As if the roars were to unleash her fury and claim her state of concentration, the female brown bear looked at Luke with her pair of furious eyes.
Never before...
Never before had a predator inflicted such severe and painful injuries on her.
But Luke was focused, defined by his goals, and clashed with the brown bear once again, his gaze arrogant in this dark and cold place.
After a moment of silence between the two, the intent to kill was boiling again between the two beasts.
But Luke's speed was far superior.
Running with all his might, both released roars of provocation, showing their dominance and strength.
Now the female brown bear was protecting the areas where she had been injured. She moved back and forth, staring at the arctic wolf.
Roar!
Rrrr!
The roar of a wolf and a bear echoed in the darkness of the night.
Luke didn't plan on staying on the defensive the whole time, so after calculating his next moves, he launched himself against his target.
In turn, the female brown bear scraped the ground, stirring up the snow and breaking the ice.
In no time, Luke and the female brown bear exchanged blows.
The fierce momentum of the two predators clashed again and again.
As a result of this initial confrontation, the female brown bear landed a blow on Luke's abdomen when he tried to bite her neck.
Now not only was she injured, but Luke also had clear wounds filled with blood. Even his mouth had a touch of blood.
The thick sensation of blood persisted for a long time. But in turn, the female brown bear had a dozen bloody wounds as a result of these scratch exchanges.
...
"This hurts like hell, damn it, I'm going to eat you as sushi..." Luke roared in anger. This kind of anger was exciting, and he could feel his blood pulsating from the strong emotions he was feeling at the moment.
His blood dripped drop by drop onto the snow, and during this time, Luke knew that the value of the Esper Energy that represented the spirit of the female brown bear was incredibly high.
Even if his enemy had serious wounds, she remained standing in that position easily exceeding two meters in height, demonstrating her arrogance.
As for the female brown bear, she admits that the arctic wolf is very strong, but to break him down, she needs much more!
Roar!
The female brown bear roared again.
"I don't want to roar anymore, my throat hurts..." Luke had to admit that he had roared many times today, so he limited himself to growling.
Rrrr!
After seeing that the situation was not too good, she finally deigned to use her hunting talent.

At this moment, Luke's eyes shone with a strong crimson color. At this moment, a sinister feeling overflowed from his body.
At first glance, his large body became even larger, and the sharp claws on his paws increased in size.
All of the bleeding wounds were also temporarily suppressed by the hunting talent.
Rrrr!
"I'm going to turn you into my blanket!"
Luke aggressively charged towards his enemy, and within a few seconds, his speed increased to a level beyond human comprehension. He was now beside his opponent.
All of his statistics had increased!
The female brown bear felt a significant change in the arctic wolf that wanted to turn her into a meal. She could barely see Luke move, and after that burst of unknown strength, she couldn't see her enemy at all.
Luke now had an impressive speed.
But still, the female brown bear had no intention of retreating. She knew the arctic wolf was coming for her, and she couldn't afford to back down.
Roar!
The female brown bear was very angry, her huge pores were roaring steam, and her thick legs were waving in the air.
Initially, this defensive posture had made it easy for her to block the arctic wolf's attacks.
But this time, when Luke approached at a strong speed, his claws created deep wounds in her body.
Under this attack speed, Luke's strength had suddenly increased.
This was no longer the strength of an arctic wolf, but a strength greater than that of a brown bear!
Boom!
Luke collided with the body of the female brown bear and, with the help of his strength, shook his enemy.
Then, immediately after, a second blow came directly. So far, the eyes of the female brown bear showed coldness, and she was not afraid to face Luke.
But now Luke was not thrown by the pushing force of the female brown bear but only stepped back and faced his enemy again.
This time it was the female brown bear who backed off with a trace of anxiety in her eyes. She never thought she would one day face an arctic wolf that matched her strength.
But all this time, Luke was just adapting to this new burst of strength, which was a bit uncontrollable for making direct and effective blows. That's why he had only adjusted his movements to his new strength until now.
It took only fifteen seconds for Luke to attack the neck of the female brown bear accurately.
This time, his attack pierced the skin of his enemy, exposing the bones.
Blood flowed, and pain spread throughout his enemy's body. Luke couldn't waste a second, and even breathing would cost him hunting his prey.
Boom!
Luke moved his claw, and a large piece of bloody meat was severely torn from the back of the female brown bear.
Boom!
One more attack!
The claw that the female brown bear was proud of was cut off by Luke's sharp and long claws.
Immediately afterward, the female brown bear didn't know how many wounds she had received, but extreme pain had filled every part of her body.
Even if it couldn't be seen, there was a bloody scene under Luke's feet.
Roar!
The roar sounded again, declaring her unbreakable fighting spirit.
But that was not enough to stop Luke's continuous attacks, and in less than a second, he lunged at the female brown bear.
This time, Luke hit his enemy's head, and finally, that blow had disoriented the female brown bear, causing her to fall to the ground.
With a weight of more than 150 kilograms, the body of the female brown bear crashed into a bush.
Snow and ice splashed in all directions, and the snow melted due to the warm blood constantly flowing from the female brown bear's body.
A formidable enemy had fallen under the power of Luke Mondragon!
