31 - The birth of a king
Roar!
A ferocious roar crossed every corner of the Arctic mountains, every stone shook from that long roar as if it were imbued with magical powers.
Every living creature felt the pressure of an invincible predator, an animal capable of hunting its prey. That shared cold became poisonous, as if the veins of every living being's body froze.
At the top of a mountain, a female arctic fox looked up to the sky and just as she heard that roar, her eyes shone slightly. On her forehead, that trident-shaped mark glowed a bluish color, and her eyes showed arrogance.
There was confusion, admiration, and maybe a hint of caution in her expression, as if somehow she understood what she had heard. After that, she began to move in the direction of the roar, interested in knowing what kind of creature in this place had that presence.
...
"For the love of wild monkeys, have you heard that?"
"Yes, I'm not a deaf damn fool..."
Two silhouettes walked through a deep ice crack, they spoke as if they were on a picnic day and things did not interest them.
"What do you think caused it?"
"Whatever it is, it's nothing good. If that thing disrupts the order of this place, it will draw attention from those people..."
"Yes, those stupid people... Well, we have to be proud. There are usually no such strong creatures in this corner that we guard."
"I don't give a damn if a king is born right now. This place will be a playground for the Zerg, cursed horrendous beasts..."
"Well, we guard the rings, so that may take a while..."
"Have they told you anything about that supposed test?" Asked the bulkier figure, his tail had no hair but at the tip, there was a tuft of hair.
"Well, it's been some time on this continent... I still wonder when it will be able to withstand this place. Maybe it's in its last moments and looks soon..."
"That's a real shame, unlike where they come from, this world is not prepared to face the war that is coming..."
"I want to go home now. This place is too cold and there's nothing else to do but look at your stupid face and occasionally look at humans..."
"I don't think that way. Humans are more persistent than the damn cockroaches... Well, I ate the last fish you..."
"You're a damn pig, that's not surprising..."
"Hahaha, damn lizard, you're lucky that I'm happy today..."
...
Something stirred in the depths of the Arctic continent, wolves howled in every corner of this place.
It was a unique feeling, wonderful not to say otherwise. As a species, they are all proud that humans find cures for diseases, step on the moon or conquer a mountain.
Everything was very simple, for those who are not withdrawn in the world or simply have a hint of disinterest, it may not be so impressive. Of course, what does it matter if someone climbed a mountain in Korea?
This feeling isn't exactly where it has to get to. The wolves were feeling a superior and familiar presence that made their blood boil. Excitement, reverence, and joy were what they felt at this moment.
Luke was now moving at a terrifying speed, his huge body did not prevent his speed from decreasing, instead, it increased with the ten points that are automatically added.
"Today I'm going to have bear skin!"
He was excited, this time he was about to hunt a female brown bear. It's not arrogant to think that he could defeat his prey, after all, it's a female who's regaining her strength after giving birth to her cub.
Within the animal kingdom, regardless of anything else, bears on land are the strongest and most formidable creatures one could face. In Luke's previous life, he saw many cases of killer bears, some of which demonstrated the true ferocity that these creatures can unleash on living beings.
Luke's only serious fight in his previous life was with a thief. He vaguely remembers that the situation was very embarrassing because he was mistaken for the thief. But now he had a fairly risky plan.
Since he still had time where he could take advantage of triple points thanks to the growth potion, he plans to eat bear meat before losing the effect. With this, he would stop wasting a potion with such good results.
Luke planned to make the most of his opportunities. Today he planned to hunt a huge animal that is vegan, no one understands the true power of meat. Eating meat is something superior, as long as it is not meat from some exotic animal.
You always have to know what kind of meat they eat. Luke, as a human, ate dog meat in a foreign country and ended up in the hospital for three months where they spoke basic English. Since then, Luke has taken extreme care with his meals.
Who would have thought that he was now about to hunt a bear in the middle of the Arctic continent?
Moving quickly through the snow, Luke arrived at a high mountain. The first thing he had to do with the little light he had was to visualize his surroundings. The terrain is important, but the most important thing is to know that there are no other predators.
Although just thinking about facing a bear is a crazy idea, there are always predators willing to stand in front of a bear to turn it into their prey. But what assures Luke of that right now?
Therefore, under his reasoning and trying to alleviate all his unease, Luke visualized the surrounding terrain and kept away those predators that could cause any confusion in his hunt.
Afterwards, without much haste for what he was about to do, he decided to wait. Yes, the smartest thing to do is to wait and avoid spreading his scent everywhere.
Night is about to fall, and that will be the perfect time for Luke to hunt. Once he is fully prepared, his chances will increase tenfold.
"I just have to wait for you..." Luke moved away a little so as not to be seen by that female brown bear. If he really wants everything to go perfectly, he must not be discovered.
"I have been observing her for a long time, I know it is just an adult brown bear... Yes, there should be no surprises."
