62 - Song of Blood
Once again, the brown bear roared angrily.
Just when Luke thought that this brown bear had given up on saving its cub, it started running again towards where Baxter was.
At that moment, Baxter was pressing the small brown bear's body beneath its powerful claws, growling aggressively as it looked at the adult brown bear in the distance.
Although the bear cub struggled to free itself from this abusive wolf, it couldn't shake off Baxter at all. It's worth mentioning that the baby brown bear had only been born less than two months ago, so its body was too weak to move a larger body than that of a normal adult Arctic wolf.
After seeing the brown bear running towards him at full speed, Baxter simply widened its eyes and immediately bit the back of the bear cub. Lifting it as if it were its own, Baxter started running wildly out of the cave.
Baxter would be a fool to get involved in this kind of fight, so when thinking about the best way to help Luke, he immediately came up with an idea.
As an awakened species, Baxter indeed had a much higher intelligence quotient than common wolves.
It knew that it was no match for the adult brown bear at all, and it also knew that it would get Luke into trouble if it interfered, so it sought its own way.
Looking at this foolish bear cub, even though Baxter was clumsy most of the time, it kidnapped the baby brown bear from its adult counterpart and then ran wildly in the distance without an apparent direction.
By running at high speed with the bear cub in its mouth, Baxter planned to exhaust the energy of the brown bear's body.
With this, it thought of giving its boss an opportunity to inflict a lot of damage on this angry bear.
Luke understood it immediately.
This was an excellent idea, so he immediately followed the brown bear, staring fixedly at the position he would attack this time.
Brown bears have rough and thick skin, so with his enhanced right paw, Luke can only penetrate his enemy's flesh, making it difficult to kill him with a single blow. Therefore, he has been using his right paw repeatedly, even though the damage is not exaggerated.
But physical exertion is also very demanding, so now that he has a little help to kill this brown bear, suddenly everything became much easier.
Only then did he understand the power of a pack!
Rrrr!
Luke didn't like to growl or howl much, especially in battle, unless he deemed it necessary. As he closed the distance, Luke attacked the brown bear's side again with his ruthless right paw.
As soon as his claw touched the brown bear's skin, he felt the warm blood from the enemy's massive body. But still, the wound wasn't as severe as he wanted it to be.
Boom!
Luke didn't hesitate. Almost instantly after his first attack, he struck again with his other claw.
His attacks were precise, fast, and penetrated the same wound. Blood spurted out, staining Luke's white paws, and the excessive loss of blood from the enemy was much worse.
This gave Luke an advantage in terms of the injuries, and the brown bear's reaction was immediate.
Rrrr!
The brown bear felt pain and struck its enemy with its right claw. But its attack missed the target, so Luke immediately dodged to avoid the attack.
Immediately after the brown bear's first attack, it didn't engage directly with Luke, but instead focused on attacking Baxter and tearing his body apart, knowing that he hadn't harmed its bear cub.
It was evident that the speed of the adult brown bear surpassed Baxter immediately.
Baxter, with a thousand-yard stare in his eyes, wanted to look back and found a scene that would haunt him in future nights. He saw the furious brown bear a dozen meters behind him.
Truth be told, Baxter was scared at this moment. It was the first time he was facing a brown bear up close! Will it bite his tail?
Despite being filled with fear, Baxter clenched his teeth tightly to hold the bear cub firmly in his mouth while running wildly.
This was a unique instinct of any living being when they realize they must run to save their life.
But despite his fear, Baxter wanted to help his boss.
Baxter was on the verge of crying but continued running. However, his increasingly strong bite on the bear cub's skin made it impossible to resist the pain.
This caused the bear cub to howl in pain.
This howl further irritated the brown bear.
Roar!
Baxter even felt the saliva of the brown bear, indicating that it was very close.
Finally, a few seconds later, Baxter couldn't help but slightly turn his head to the side and from the corner of his eye, he could see the brown bear, this time no more than three meters away from him.
Baxter was now truly crying!
He didn't want to be bear poop!
But as Baxter tends to not be very intelligent most of the time, he slipped and fell to the ground due to a misstep.
His body fell several meters away, and it was then that Baxter felt it was time to abandon his life of free will.
Today, he would be wolf meat in the jaws of that ugly brown bear!
The brown bear was already one meter away from Baxter, and he could feel it, even without doing anything, he knew he would be dead in the next few seconds.
Baxter had already resigned himself to not revealing Ardad about his secret hiding place for Lemmings.
But just when Baxter was scared and had accepted his death, his tail trembling with fear, a huge white wolf shadow appeared before his eyes at lightning speed.
Baxter could sense tranquility in the figure of that enormous wolf, and from its eyes overflowed an intense desire for aggression.
This time, Luke was different. At the last moment, he activated his hunting ability, and his overall stats increased exponentially.
Aooo!
This time, Luke howled so loudly that it pierced through the trees and shook the mountains.
When the brown bear saw the white wolf at this moment, its mere presence and its angry gaze added a stronger presence than before.
Rrrr! The deep roar of the brown bear and the strong howl of the wolf formed a stark contrast.
Both wanted to demonstrate their dominance and strength!
As Luke couldn't afford to lose a second, he confronted the brown bear directly without even fleeing.
Auge!
