52 - What others suffer
Luke couldn't see inside the fruit since he would put it completely in his mouth, but in fact, this fruit was not registered as an edible fruit and it was something that shouldn't really be in the Arctic.
This magical ice fruit is something that Luke doesn't know if it's due to the basic attribute panel that he learned its name, the fruit of a cold tree, but he had never seen a similar fruit before.
The closest thing to these fruits were black peaches, as for where his mother found it, it's difficult to know due to the communication difficulty. However, having the seed makes it possible to do something in the future.
This time, the description on the basic attribute panel was very confusing and peculiar.
"[The first cold fruits are difficult to find since the first trees had completely frozen, legend says that when you cut a fruit from a magic ice tree, its interior will reveal a deep blue color, with small seeds that will shine like stars on a clear night. The taste of the magical fruit would be unique and surprising, with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. Additionally, it would have a crunchy and refreshing texture, like a mix of watermelon and apple.
But what would make this fruit magical would be its ability to grant some passive characteristics for a short period of time. The magic ice fruit could increase the resistance and strength of any living being that ate it, allowing it to withstand low temperatures and giving it superhuman characteristics for a short period of time. It could also heal wounds, accelerate growth, or give a little more intelligence to a creature."
It is said that there is a special fruit born from this tree that allows the living being to have control over snow and ice, to handle water like air, and to feel the cold like summer.]"
Of course, that magical fruit that is apparently the ancestor of this fruit is not as described. This is just a fruit that has apparently lost its most special attributes.
But the evolutionary point value was very acceptable, and it had reduced to a few points now, so just after eating six fruits, the value had already been reduced to one point.
This made Luke stop eating.
But then his mother moved to pet the Lemmings, instructing her son to eat them. Because she also knows that those fruits are not at all delicious.
Even though she was starving, she preferred to leave the best things for her little puppy to eat. In her eyes, Luke was still her little puppy.
This made Luke feel that maternal love is truly the greatest love in the world, and he regretted not being more considerate to his parents.
At that moment, Baxter also dragged the fishing net into the cave.
Luke let out a low howl and told his mother that he had brought something delicious for her. Something unique, that even if she thought about it carefully, she had possibly never tasted before. Therefore, this time he would let her have a refreshing meal.
The emaciation of his father and mother is obviously due to lack of food. During this period of time, they have not eaten enough.
At this moment, Baxter heard the low howl of the chief. He also sensibly dragged the fishing net in front of Luke's mother.
The fish was violently slapped to death by Luke with his right paw, and its stomach was cleaned. Therefore, it now emits a strong smell of blood.
This made the other Arctic wolves in the cave, who were sleeping deeply to preserve their strength, all raise their heads.
They haven't eaten for days. For them, this smell is the best smell in the world. All pairs of eyes were looking at that fish that was still dripping blood, and they couldn't help but covet it.
"Rrrr!"
But with a growl from Luke's dad, this little persuasion made all the wolves calm down.
But looking at the fishing net that exuded a strong smell of blood, they were still salivating frantically. It's not that the pack had lost the loyalty factor, not at all, they were all hungry and acting instinctively.
Some time ago, even under extreme hunger, they went to hunt and kill a brown bear that was roaming around the cave and making it even harder to find prey in the wolf pack's territory.
As a result, the brown bear couldn't be successfully hunted. And in exchange for that, many wolves were injured. This makes the weak state of the pack even worse.
Now that they suddenly smell food, there was longing in their eyes. Luke pulled out a pair of almost twenty-kilogram fish. This food was enough for his parents to eat, and after expressing his intentions, he handed this fish to his father.
Soon, there were harmless howls that only showed how hungry they were.
Among the wolves, as the pack leader, he had supreme authority in decisions that included the distribution of food.
This made these Arctic wolves frantically begging Luke's dad. But in response, Luke's dad bared his teeth again and even extended his thick claws, tearing the ground.
He has to maintain control of his pack, as he knows the value of food on a polar night. If he, as the alpha wolf, does not have enough deterrent power, there is a high possibility of trouble.
At this moment, Luke's father, after containing a group of wolves, only then took out one of the few fish from the fishing net as a reserve.
These were five big fish, which were distributed among the adult wolves at once.
It's not a ridiculous decision. As the pack leader, even if he has to give up his own food so that the smaller ones can live, he will do it. Wolves are strictly hierarchical, and besides the dominant wolf pair, there is also a small division between the other strongest wolf pair.
The fighting power and status of the second wolf pair in the pack are like a second duo of leaders. This is the case in other packs, and now in Luke's father's pack, there are two pairs of wolves, and their attributes are at level five. And without exception, each wolf received their fish.
After the two wolves got their food, they howled excitedly. But regarding the remaining wolves, they had to eat half a fish.
Luke, who saw this, couldn't do anything. If he were honest, he only cared if his parents ate or not. Since he was little, he owed nothing to anyone but his parents, so gratitude lies with them.
Of course, he feels sorry, but for now, this is all the food he can share
