Fun fact: a friend of mine was on this very sub a year before the disaster. I haven't listened to the ep yet, but my friend described the sub as basically a big bathtub powered by two desk fans and a game controller. Which all sounds like a nightmare. He, however, said it was all very calm and peaceful, and that he even took a nap on the way down. Guess the roulette wheel of Rush assuming money and arrogance (excuse me, I mean "innovation") can overcome basic engineering problems didn't come up on his number.

I bet someone brought Country music onboard anyways. It was a simple rule… Also, I wonder how far that kid got on his Rubik’s cube. Imagine solving it in record time - at a record depth - then the audio bleed from someone’s headphones fills the cylinder, “tequila on the beach cuz my wife left me… gonna fish until the well runs dry” 💥 Thank you both for another awesome season. I am often baffled for not remembering some of these national stories when they happened, but often glad I don’t so I can hear them told by A Concerned Citizen over DeFormers ominous foreshadowing. I hope you both enjoy your time off!

Grand season finale--I was waiting for the Swindled treatment of this catastrophe. Excellent writing, timely puns, very nuanced. The supreme irony here is that the more he won with successful "tests," the more stability he lost in the long run. Literally valued his own life (and others) to the lowest bidder, I have to think it was a suicide mission 🙄 Have a happy holiday season, ACC (you get to rest this year)! and deformr, the music during the aftermath had a bit of Blade Runner feel 👌 @everyone, gentle reminder that patreon lets you gift subscriptions now; spread the spirit of swindled!

Haven't listened yet, but seeing the words 'OceanGate' has filled me with a similar sort of ocean-related 'oh god this is something I know about but I'm about to learn the horrors in complete detail' dread that I got from the Tilikum episode
