PF: Chapter 34
🕑 Added 2022-09-01 16:26:59 +0000 UTCWith his thermal vision activated, Chen walked to the places with heat signals. The walls didn’t act as a hinder for him. Only distance did. Korra was following behind him. She was cracking her fists and looking around.
Sometimes, Chen didn’t get Amon. An anti-bender would appear. Korra would knock them out with her earth or firebending.
“Wait a minute,” Chen stopped when he realised one thing.
He’d been following the high heat signals to find Amon.
However, he was wrong.
He should have followed the lowest ones.
Amon should be in a healing pool, which would make his temperature raise or drop, depending on the heat of the water.
Finding a near anti-bender, Korra was about to attack him. Chen held her from her shoulder. She turned to him, raising her eyebrow in a question.
“What?”
“Don’t knock him out, bring him here.”
“Alright.”
Bending the water around her, Korra made it wrap the anti-bender’s hand. The water then grabbed him, dragging him to the ground until he was near them.
Chen bent down and held the man from his collar. Taking off his mask, a young teenager’s face was revealed.
“Where is Amon?” Chen asked. He then raised the teenager high.
His eyelids shaking, the anti-bender held Chen’s wrist. In an action of martial arts, he wrapped his legs around Chen’s arm and spun. He tried to break his arm and flip him.
Unlucky for him, Chen used his Chi to increase his power. His arm’s muscles grew, and his body started releasing a misty aura.
Chen tightened his grip on the young’s neck, choking him and making his body limp. Chen then slammed him to the ground and stomped on his chest.
“Chen isn’t that too much—“ Korra tried to reason with Chen, who looked angry.
“Listen here, kid,” Chen said. “You tell me where Amon is.”
“Never.” He replied.
Sneering, Chen crouched. Purple flame surrounded the tip of his finger, and he said. “You can feel how this little flame is hot, can’t you? I bet your face is on the verge of melting.”
The kid didn’t reply. But he started sweating up.
Chen moved his finger, and he put it above the kid’s crotch.
There was no better way to scar a man than threatening of burning his dick — his greatest drive.
“Wait! Aim that to my head.” He tried to move, but Chen’s foot pinned him.
“Oh, without looking, I can say that the fabric of your pants is starting to burn,” Chen said, still smiling. “If I let it close, I wonder what will happen to your little brother.” Chen then continued moving his finger slowly. “Each minute, I’ll let my finger get 5 millimetres closer.”
“Just kill me.” The teenager said, his face full of fear as he tried to move. He started breathing so fast that Chen doubted his lungs would explode.
“Nope.”
“Fine! Stop! Amon is the upper floor!” the teenager anti-bender yelled.
Chen focused his senses on the upper floor. The heat signals were weak, he could tell. The chamber was cold, and the heat imitating from objects was low. Except, there is one cigarette next to something that looked like a pool.
“Korra, you have the honour.” Chen stood up and kicked the anti-bender on his head, knocking him out.

Seeing the experience, Chen shook his head. It was nothing much, but it’s not to underestimate. But little by little, he would accumulate enough to level up.
As Chen walked backwards, Korra seemed to understand what he meant. She pointed her hands up, before thrusting her arms to the ground. The floor cracked. It started collapsing, and the rocks fell with many things. In the middle of these things, there was a high amount of water. In its middle, there was a topless black-haired man.
On his chest, there were a few burning scars. In the middle of his stomach, there was a trace of a deep wound. Chen observed the wounds. All of them had been caused by him. The ones on his chest had been a result of their first encounter. The one on his stomach had been a result of his black flames.
The water started turning around Amon, creating a tornado of water that calmed his fall. He landed easily.
“Amon,” Korra muttered, seeing Amon's face. she looked triggered.
“Well, my top two enemies are here.”
Without doing any slight movement, the water got away from Amon, circling him. They carried the fallen anti-bender and threw him away.
It seemed that he could bend with his mind. It wasn’t surprising. Amon could do bloodbending with his mind, and that was the hardest sub-bending of water.
Korra extended her hands forward, fingers pointed at Amon. She released two lightning bolts. Amon scoffed. The lightning danced along the water.
Without any movement from Amon’s side, the water headed at Korra, carrying the sparks of electricity with her. At the same time, he pointed his finger at Chen. Sharps spikes of ice headed at him.
Chen knew its distraction. The moment he tries to parry them, Amon would bloodbent him.
As Korra bent the water away from her, Chen jumped backwards and raised his hands. He created a firewall, covering himself from the view of Amon.
“You have learnt how to fight blood benders. But I can simply spam my Chi to find you and grab you.” Amon pointed his hand at Korra, who was about to attack him. She started floating in the air. The water around him spread in the direction of the firewall. It turned off, and Amon looked at the thick stream, looking for Chen. He wasn’t there.
“Grrr…” Korra struggled as she stared at Amon, who was confused and looking for Chen.
“Above you motherfucker.”
Amon lifted his head. Chen was flying with jet stream fire on his hand, fingers pointed at the bloodbender.
“You survived this last time, let’s see if you can do it again.” He said.
In the little time frame Amon had to bloodbent him, Chen spammed a lightning net of 6 bolts at him. Amon had no chance to dodge, nor time.
He got electrocuted, and he fell to the ground.
“I see. You are bending your Chi so lightning can leave through your feet and to the earth. Not this time.” Chen sent another bunch of lightning bolts. Amon’s body started floating. Occasionally, his bones appeared. Turning from white to black, Amon fell on his back. His skin held burn marks, and he lost consciousness.
“Haa.” His mouth opened slightly, and Amon exhaled some smoke.
Chen turned off the fire and landed on the ground. He was next to Amon. Meanwhile, Korra regained control over her body.

“Chen. To be honest with you.” She said. “You did better than I did.”
“Yeah,” Chen said. “Hit his face with some water.”
“What?”
“Just do as I tell you. I need him awake”
“Won’t he blood bend us that way.”
“Don’t worry about it. I should be able to destroy his Chi points.”
Chen had fought with Chi blockers in the past. He had seen them. Although he didn’t learn their art, he had seen where they aim. He was a bender too, and he knew where the Chi points are. Using his Chi, he thought that he could destroy the Chi points for good.
“Okay. I don’t know why you are doing this, but I trust you.” Korra shook her head and stood up. She gathered the water from the floor and used it to hit Amon’s face.
Chen pointed his head to the left. Korra turned her head. She looked at the anti-benders that had gathered here. They were the guys that had been trapped inside of the robots. Now that they were here, it was essential to stop them.
Amon’s eyelids shook. He quickly pointed his hand at Korra.
She floated in the air.
“Not again.” She muttered, pointing her finger down.
On the other hand, the people who came saw Amon bloodbending Korra.
“Impossible.”
“He is a bloodbender.”
“Were we fooled the whole time?”
Amon seemed to hear them. He turned his face, which expressed confusion, and he met with his followers. They seemed to realise what happened. But before Amon could do anything, Chen clenched his fist and appeared next to Amon in instant. lightning was covering Chen’s body as he punched with swiftness.
Amon was sent flying 6 meters until he hit the wall, cracking it.
Chen, using <<Lightning Dash>> at his current level boosted his speed by 600%. Plus the boost from his Chi control, Chen was very agile. He moved and appeared next to Amon. The lightning cloak that covered him vanished. But it served its purpose. Chen held Amon from the neck.
It was time for Chen to take his revenge. Lifting Amon, Chen slammed him to the ground.
“Do you remember how this went last time? You twisted my wrists. Do you know how much that hurt?”
Red aura covering his fingers, Chen held Amon’s hand. He inserted his Chi forcefully to Amon’s Chi’s points, destroying it.

“Argh…” Amon growled as he pointed the hand Chen held toward the firebender. It seemed he meant to use it to blood bend, Chen. But it didn’t work. Just as Amon was about to use his other hand, Chen twisted Amon’s wrist. With his thumb pressed against Amon’s wrist, he inserted his Chi from his finger.
Amon, with strong power of will, was about to move his other hand.
Chen had another idea in mind. He wasn’t here to show mercy to Amon or to take his bending. He was here to destroy him.
Clenching his fists, Chen started punching Amon’s face.
With his Chi circling around his body, Chen was stronger and faster than normal people by 3 times or 4.
From Amon’s face, teeth started flying. Each time Chen’s fist landed, it created a bone-cracking sound. His fist getting covered in blood, Chen kept punching Amon, who couldn’t even use his mind to bend now. How would he with Chen’s powerful punches rain on him?
“Stop! You are going to kill him!” Korra reminded Chen, who felt water wrapping his fists. Korra controlled the water and Chen stood up.
Realising that she was right, Chen calmed down. He couldn’t kill Amon publicly, and neither did he come here to do it. He was here to take his vengeance. Taking everything from Amon and giving him scars would be sufficient.
“You are right,” Chen said. “I did get what I came here for… just one thing left.”
Yes, there is one thing in life. Thanks to Amon, Chen had two scars on his wrists. They were caused by the iron he had melted. Trust him when he says that melting metal was one of the most painful things he had experienced.
“What?”
“A bit of burning mark.” Chen lifted his foot. Amon still had one functional hand. Chen stomped on it, purple fire and Chi boosting his stomp. Bones cracking sound echoed. Chen took his foot back. Amon’s other hand was destroyed and burned now. Even with healers, it would take a very long time to fix him. Chen doubted that the authorities would do that. Amon was a publicly known terrorist. They wouldn’t heal him. Maybe, they would heal his face and hand enough for him to pick up food.
When he looked at Amon and saw how miserable he was, satisfaction took over his heart. Chen shook his hand, shaking the water from his wrists and turned.
“You know, this is the edgiest thing I’ve ever seen.” Korra titled her eyebrows at Chen.
Turned his head, he exhaled a scoffing laugh. “You should have seen what he’d done to me. Compared to that, what you’ve seen is nothing but a kid shows.”
Korra almost cringed. But she said, sympathising, “Sorry that happened to you. But you shouldn’t let revenge take over your heart.”
“I know that.” Chen nodded, making Korra open her eyes in surprise. He continued. “That’s why I got it out on him.” He pointed at Amon.
Compared to Chen, Korra could be very edgy when it’s needed. She was only judging Chen because she saw it from an outsider's standing point. In the canon, when her father was sentenced to prison, she attacked the judge. She put his head inside her dog bear’s mouth and threatened the judge to kill him in an ugly way if he doesn’t respond to her answers. Now, whether would she do it or not was questionable. But her bear dog doesn’t know what bluffing means and Korra knew it. Of course, that’s in the other timeline. But it is how extreme a person can be when they are exposed to harm.
Korra put her hands on her hips and shook her head. She then turned her head to the guys and the girls of the anti-bending movement.
“What, you are going to fight for Amon?” She said, cracking her fists.
They started taking their masks off, throwing them to the ground. They stared at Amon with a desire to kill, more than Chen had. Of course, no one would try to kill him in front of the Avatar. At any rate, they turned their heads and left, muttering how wrong they had been.
As everyone left, Korra wrapped Amon in a water bubble and carried him outside the building. Chen put his hands in his pocket and walked next to her. When they arrived at the seaport, they saw an airship above them.
Lin Beifong and her group were there. Seeing how she was staring at him, Chen’s heart skipped a beat. His face didn’t draw any expression. Lin’s glare was only getting worse as he looked around, trying to ignore her stare.
He’d promised to visit her this morning and be a part of her operation to catch Amon. He’d even forced her to almost say please.
When they stood in front of the police, Korra made Amon land. “We took care of everything.”
“You have any idea about what possibly could have happened!” Beifong said, stressing her tongue. She looked between Korra and Chen. Her glare settled on the latter. “And you know what I told you what would happen if I caught you fighting, even for grocery!”
“You said you would give me a free pass.”
“That pass was used when I caught you the first time.” Lin stood in front of her Chin and stood up on her toe. Her face was on the same level as his.
“Hey!” Chen titled his head. “You sneaky old fox is breaking our deal.” He smirked, knowing that Lin was only bluffing to teach him a lesson. “I’m proud of you.”
“Why did you sneak behind my back,” Lin asked.
So that’s why she’s upset.
Chen sighed. “Amon was healing, and If I came to you, he would have been in his peak condition. I didn’t waste time, and I wanted to wake you up. Seeing how you still pretty at this age and how good your skin is, I knew that you give importance to your sleep schedule.”
Her lips twitched, but her expression softened a bit. When she heard his last sentence, she opened her eyes widely. Taking a deep breath, she calmed down and stopped standing on her toes. Her eyes, however, were still on his. Seeing how she looked at him, Chen felt confused. He didn’t understand if he got himself in a worse situation.
“Just stop being polite to get off the bat. I’ll leave you this time with a warning.” She slightly hit his ribs with her elbow. “Arrest Amon and Tarrlok.”
Chen forced a smile, pretending not to be affected by it.
Korra, on the other hand, put her mouth closer to his ear. She whispered. “I’ll tell Asami.”
Chen turned his eyes to Korra. “Don’t you dare?” the dreams of a pretty wife, servants, and a full bank account started breaking.
“Relax, I’m just joking,” Korra said, hitting his ribs slightly. Her words acted like glue to his dream.
“You should’ve seen your face.” She chuckled.
