I take it the Two Ronnies sketch you're referring to is the Cockney Rhyming slang sermon? Along a similar line, I'd suggest you watch and react to Spike Milligan's Policeman reading the parable of The Good Samaritan.

"All over his Oedipus" Oedipus -> Oedipus REX -> KECKS (trousers) (From the north/scottish "kicks", which meant breeches, which were worn until the 1820s) I only knew Kecks from Red Dwarf, so it all ties in eventually!!
